God almighty, that lot have got some brass neck. 🤯 In my family, EVERYONE would have been invited. If one person had declined the invitation, they might have been asked to babysit. A “No” would have been respected. None of us would DREAM of seizing control of one family member, excluding them from the trip, and issuing an edict that they WILL babysit, whether they like it or not. I’d imagine that this is quite normal, and that most people would say the same.

The audacity of some people to push out babies and put the responsibility of those babies on someone else baffles me. My dad’s affair child tried to pull that shit on me, my older brothers and sisters on my birthday. Blocked her, her family and my dad’s family. We decided to take a trip to Kyoto with our mom and dad who was on our side. So peaceful. If blocking people doesn’t work. Feel free to change your number. That’s what we did. (Yes we still have a good relationship with our dad. Our mom and dad got remarried 3 years ago. They somehow worked things out.)

I believe that I would be making arrangements for my OWN little 'vacation'--to start the day before THEY leave and not return until the day AFTER their cruise ends. THAT should send the message loud and clear. And if somebody doesn't like it, maybe THEY should be voluntold to be a free babysitter.
