When you say sharing electrons does that mean the shared electrons go around the 2 atoms in a figure 8 motion ?

@@michaelrowland-us3he Yes at GCSE level, that's exactly what they do. The scientist Neils Bohr came up with the idea that electrons orbit at a fixed distance from the nucleus. So they are on one of the shells but never in between.
