This is extremely ingenious for coved lighting. I do like your ID's boxing for the aircon and cabling and use for the downlights. it is not over done and very trim and neat

Hi, i think you should do a levelling before you stick the cornice as the existing ceiling might not be level. also the led driver actually you can hide it in your carpentry.
@fellowneighbour20 күн бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! We didnt thought of leveling the ceiling. Turns our there were small imperfections that we have to plaster over. We are considering to buy separate small fireproof boxes to house the led drivers

Love this video. Very innovative and I'm going to try it at home as well. Can i enquire how did you conceal the wiring and cabling for the ceiling surface mounted lights? Or were the points already provided in the ceiling?
@fellowneighbour20 күн бұрын
Hi there, some points were original, but we did a few concealed wiring🤫 Not all electricians are willing to do that though

How do you ensure the heat generated by the leds doesnt cause the adhesive to lose its effectiveness and droop over time?
@fellowneighbour21 күн бұрын
Actually we havent got to that stage. But the strips are enclosed within a translucent casing, that will catch the strips in the event it falls out

Hi there, thank you for sharing this innovative solution. Could I ask about the few downlights you installed in your foyer and living room - Since you didn't do a false ceiling for these places, how were you able to install the downlights without any wire casing/trunking (eg concealed wires)? Would our electrician be able to help do this as well? Thanks!
@fellowneighbour22 күн бұрын
Those are concealed wiring🤫. Some electricians will do it

Hi good morning. I Would like to get the same aluminium profile that u have installed in your bedroom. But I’ve problem getting 5 meter per piece length. Would u mind sharing with me where u got it from Taobao? Would like the same cornice profile like yours. Many thanks in advance.
@fellowneighbour18 күн бұрын
Hi there. From what I understand, the maximum length sold is often 3 meters per piece. Above 3 meters, you will have problems in both domestic and local shipping, including getting it to fit in your lift. There will be areas where cutting is necessary so you may be better off joining 2 pieces together to make up your desired length

May I have the address that I can purchase? Intended to do the same for my new house in coming February. Any copyright reserved? Lol😂. Look neat and nice. Good job done bro. Thk u for sharing. Cheers
@@fellowneighbour thank you. It helps me a lot. Happy new year . Cheers.😊

@@peterwong7625 You are most welcome, all the best. I recommend you purchase 30% more than your required length because not all cornices will be perfectly straight. Some might be so damaged that they are unusable

Amazing video! How long is your LED strip? Considering the length of your LED strip around your living area, do you experience any issues with the ending section appearing dimmer than the starting section?
@fellowneighbour22 күн бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. This living room consist of 2 LED strips that is 9 meter and 7 meter. You will need to use a 24v led strip instead of 12v so that the brightness is consistent. The both strips are powered by a single 300w led driver

@fellowneighbour22 күн бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. I borrowed some tools from my dad, like the circular saw in the video, and modified it with a wooden support. Some other tools like angle grinders and track saw are purchased. They will be featured in future videos:)

excellent work! can you share what LED strip you got? can change colour? how many lumens? how many diodes per m?
@fellowneighbour22 күн бұрын
Hi there, we went with tri tone led (ccw) and paired it with a tuya zigbee controller to change colour and brightness. 192 diodes per meter. e.tb.cn/h.Ti5y8eonE6dvH75?tk=LfMGebFGl2s

Hi there. I like your cornice DIY. But I would greatly warn against hiding the led driver behind the curtain. It is a serious fire risk. SMPS (switch mode power supply) can and will have their capacitors explode if faulty and it happens quite commonly. I would not encourage you to hide the drive behind curtains. Better find another way to conceal it away from the curtains.
@fellowneighbour22 күн бұрын
Great feedback! I have definitely thought of this safety concern as well. However, there is really no other positions that i can think of to hide the led driver. Isnt led drivers typically hidden in cabinets or partition boards? Would those not be a fire hazard as well?
@mulelos21 күн бұрын
@@fellowneighbour we're taking about different materials of different burning points. I think you catch my drift. In cabinets there's usually laminate and woods burning point is definitely higher than curtain to cause a fire. Today if your SMPS capacitor explode, I would say the danger of your curtain catch fire is higher than the cabinet catch fire.
