Thanks Nige. I did read the opening statement from Brandon Estates. Almost entirely focused on speedway and ignores stock car racing, which as you said, was the most profitable / viable sport in latter years. That said, your trip to Poland recently shows speedway too could generate immense crowds if promoted well. The buzz generated if the Bees return (sorry!) would likely be enough. Have this horrible feeling that if they lose again, Brandon Estates will just play the long game and come back with a more credible alternative sporting provision … meanwhile letting the site deteriorate further until even the locals turn against the stadium. But Odsal proves we should never give up 💪 Ps would Speak, Wood invest millions into stock car stadiums if they weren’t viable??

What baffoons are we dealing with here Nigel, jeez.....if the planning application is rejected then the stadium should be rebuilt. As a former Coventry supporter i can only appreciate all the work you are doing behind the scenes. Good luck with the racing .

Hi Nigel, You would think the Local Council would have zoned area's for more house's rather than let a developer demolish a track to only put up 124 house's.

Can you race speedway or stock car on a 3G football pitch? It’s apples to oranges. You can’t compare them. As you say, it’s just appeasing people by numbers. Not looking at who those people are. It’s ridiculous.

Why are they putting a 3g football pitch in whn thrs 3 or 4 4G pitches in rugby school just a few miles up the road and 3 more in Daventry 🤷🏼‍♀️.... as u say Nigel it's a token gesture to get the planning thru.... a year down the line it will be pulled up and more housing build " because it's not being used".... they were firing questions at the sport England chap as he is not a speedway follower... if he have been they wud have been tied up in Knott's

Personally I can not stand football. It’s everywhere and bores me senseless. Speedway and stock car are just couple of my interests but when stadia are shut, it’s much harder to follow the sport. It’s not as if I want to travel for hours each weekend to watch a race and the broadcasting of races is way behind that of football. Football and oval racing are simply not comparable.

Oh and what even is a 3G pitch? Is it AstroTurf? There’s dozens of those around everywhere.

Don't think he was from the council... as it has gone to appeal so it goes higher than local council... the local council planning rejected the proposed building of houses on the stadium site
