Thanks you for making this video, it really helped me put mine together!

I just got this lifter and my cover is too thick to fit in fully even with the provided extensions. My cover is 6 inch tapering to 4 inch which is 12 inch tapering to eight when folded. I bent the pipes to provide a wider opening that allows the folded cover to slide in.

If you have a concrete pad that your hot tub sits on, it is better to mount the plate to the concrete with lag screws. Remove the cabinet piece, tap holes in the plate, tap into the concrete, and mount the plate to the concrete with the lag screws, Re-attach the cabinet piece. This will keep the plate mounted firmly to the concrete. That plate will push up against your hot tub frame, every time you take the cover off. This will stop that.

At 0.29 in the video it shows 4 "lag screws" that are never shown being used. The instructions say they are used to attach the two uprights to the cabinet. I would be concerned about how strong of an attachment these thin screws could provide and if they pose any risk to plumbing.

What is the best way to lift the tub to slide the plate under?

I wondered the same thing…we tapped a crowbar with the hammer under it just enough to get the plate in place.

You didn't show the part when you put it on the hot tub. Is it easy?

It doesn't attach to the tub, it has a plate on the bottom that you slide under the tub.
