I know that Hasbro used these cartoons as commercials for the toys and wanted as many characters in them as they could get, but, as a kid, I liked the fact that it wasn't always Duke or Optimus Prime who saved the day. Here, Cover Girl saved the Joes. In the 1st Transformers mini series, Mirage brought down the Deception ship. Everyone had a part.

@@collegerebel Her having blonde hair would give her a distinctive look amongst the rest of the women on G.I. Joe. Jinx has short black hair, Scarlet has the long red hair, Lady Jaye has the short brown hair, and Baroness has the long black… the blonde hair for “Cover Girl” would be perfect.

They should have kept Cover Girl blonde as she was in the first mini-series. With red hair she looked too much like Scarlett, and this was even acknowledged in the show.

The standard auburn haired version may reference the comics and the toys, but I find the blonde version more visually distinct. Either way, Cover Girl doesn't seen to get as much love as the other female Joes.

It fits her profile. She used to be a covergirl (as in a fashion model). Figures that she is the one changing her hairstyle and wardrobe once and a while. Perhaps the brown short haircut helped toning down the dirty remarks by her teammate Clutch. 😜
