You've really got that EVH early sound spot on..Great playing and tone.. Was surprised with the Duncan 59 ( Alnico 5 Mag) as the pickup...They can sound bloated in the Bass sometimes , but it sounds fantastic in your rig here..

Thanks Bryan... I love that pickup, and I think part of the secret to that early brown sound is the cranked plexi with the variac dropping the voltage down to get that brown sound. I remember when I recorded this, even with the power soak, it was fkin loud, but the tone was oh so sweet. The sound of that guitar does tend to have a more treble tone to it. I put it down to the maple neck, and the early floyd rose with the thin block attached. I actually hate the floyd rose because of the hassle to re-string them, but the tone is something that is definitely sweet as. Thanks for listening man. Share of you like the vid. I originally had this on another channel that had a couple of thousand views. Cheers.

@@tomb8430 Yes ..you nailed that "Brown Sound" It's helped along by not having a " Fire Breathing" pickup.. Those who try to get the tone with a high output Humbucker , don't get the clarity and seperation between the strings...As you've been successful in tone chasing EVH sound, I've also pulled a unicorn out of the hat on my channel replicating the impossible tone of Jimmy Page from 1973 "The Song Remains The Same"..If you're a Page fan, check it out ..The commentary from viewers suggests it hasn't been replicated prior Well done on the accuracy of your tone..
