roter13 not just Tyra. Journalists and "fashion people" at the mock media press junket told Kathy, the other southerner with a "cement pond", to lose that accent. You dont even have to go to cycle 7. Nnenna had an "african accent" they had no qualms about ever. This was during an era where southern American accents were discredited and looked down on in certain circles, unless you had a really great personality or something else that made it palatable to middle America or the elites on either coast. Presumably after some backlash, Tyra on her show, post cycle with the girls, back tracked and they all sort of came to a conclusion that Danielle's accent was rather a "dialect" to diffuse and deflect some of the heat she had been getting, without outright taking ownership of her previous hawkish stance on accents.

Not only being bothered by Danielle's accent, also with her tooth gap, which they said didn't look good, but when it comes to Chelsey Hersley, the runner up for cycle 15, not only they liked it, but ENHANCED IT.... So the black girl had to have it closed, but the white girl had it made bigger, just for the hell of it... smh! And no, I'm not black, just stating something that jumps to my eyes.

Paving the way for the likes of Leila to make it big in 2012 TWO YEARS LATER. Pull your race card someone else, cuz hmmm, in this scenario all the white girls with gap teeth lost this competition. Surprising all these inconvenient facts don't also "jump to your eyes".

in defense of danielle, danielle was a better print model and walking model than joanie. But they were pretty much neck and neck. I liked joanie a lot too, but I think Danielle was one of the best winners.

I agree, but not on the first part tho. I believe Joanie SLAYED the competition from the start. She has better pictures than Danielle, and she even has a signature walk that Tyra commended in one of their challenges; Danielle's was just average. But I agree that Danielle is also an awesome and deserving winner. Really loved them both and their friendship in the show. I really wished Joanie was part of the All Star Cycle. Too bad she gave up modelling already during that time.

Kelly wasn't in panel in allstars, and she adapted her eyes to every shoot in cycle 17, not 12 (even though she had only about 2 bad pictures) and I'm aware antm is tyra's way to try to expand the concept of model, australia'sntm is a bit more accurate in fashion-wise, I don't agree/believe everything tyra says but I do know what a good photo is, and she can work her way through a whole lot of different concepts with her strenght being her eyes but not using them in the same way the whole time.

She decided to go for art direction and painting, and yeah in her original cycle she had a lot of flaws. But after the allstars? She didnt get any comment on same expression everytime, she managed her eyes well and DIFFERENTLY in the shoots, after the cycle she booked nyc fashion week important shows having a not-so-strong walk, she did a motion editorial for a fragrance recently, enough? Look at the pictures I said in the last reply, you clearly haven't.

I feel like Fatima could’ve won her cycle if Whitney wasn’t in the same cycle as her Fatima had a story where the other girls like Anya and katarzyna both were amazing models as well but didn’t have story of overcoming and Tyra really wanted a plus size winner that year so Whitney was the perfect candidate,which Whitney didn’t really deserve to win in my opinion she did poorly she’s a beautiful girl but did deserve to win in my opinion Anya was the clear winner strong contenders were definitely Fatima and katarzyna and considering those three were foreign girls two Eastern European girls and a Somali girl.
