Coverlay Door Inserts for "05-09 Mustangs"

I ordered the Coverlay Door Panel (Red) last fall for my 07 GT and I didn't had a chance to install them because I was kind of sceptical about the finish. But now watching your video this turns out to be pretty a good alternative and this gives me confidence that it will fit great. Thanks for your videos !

Yeah, I found I had to use my drill with a wire wheel, and also a handheld wire brush when I was removing the glue residue when I did my overlays on my 2006 'vert... I let it sit for a full day before removing the tape, and it took a few days to gas out.

No googone necessary. Just peel off the backing. A little heat and a putty knife and done! BTW, Amazon has replacement panels for $38. Not bad. I might use carbon fiber film to add a little prestige to the look

I ripped the glue panel off mine down to the clear plastic lot easier to install the Coverlays you get a better fit the glue panel does come off down to the bare plastic mine is red

How are the coverlays doing after a year and all the seasons . I have 05 and want to do it. I watched another guy who pulled the panels and took the backing off which you left that on. Thinking that has something to do with them sticking better with the supplied adhesive . His did not stick well to the plastics of the door. The backing of the vinyl seems to work better with what coverlays provides .The peeling material has got to go. 🤣 Thanks for your videos, they keep me motivated. 🙏

I got red ones and they had black spots from bad paint. If u really want it to last use a razor to cut and yank out most of that layer then glue. Well u might wana sand or wire brush before glue. So only get black for this product. I’m personally going to take mine to an upholstery shop soon to do it right and make sure it lasts. American muscle makes a product but it’s harder to install. Also not impressed my the glue coverlay uses

A gorilla style glue. The coverlays do come with their own glue.

Does the shelby/kicker speakers really sounds different from the oem shaker 500?

I've noticed a change but nothing CRAZY. I only did it as one side was screwed and found out it was my amp. Nothing major tho. Still glad I did the change. If I upgrade my amps for the car the sound will be better.

The inserts came with a silicone clear glue.

Hey I was looking at getting plastic inserts for my 05. Do you know where I can get that glue? Also how long does it take before you can drive it. I know you said 6-8 hours in the video. Is that just for the tape or is it good to go? Lastly, I see you have racing seats what did you do about your air bag light?

6-8 hours than your good to drive after Glue. The Glue came with the Coverlays. The airbag light sadly is on at times. I still have to find a dummy plug to make it shut off. Its not annoying to me.

However the airbag light will be something I address later. Im talking to a buddy who might be able to build me a plug. We will see.

I'll subscribe for a chance to win some car stuff, oh good video as well, I enjoyed it! woulda subscribed even if there wasn't a giveaway :-) I just picked up a 06 saleen s281s/c only 13k miles but these dreaded vinyl panels are starting to bubble and peel. What a terrible design! I looked at purchasing an 08 Saleen that had alcantara door panel inserts with red stitching, it was beautiful and didnt seem like it would ever peel off. I am contemplating between getting some nice suede or alcantara panels made with wine red diamond stitching from an upholstery shop to match the liz stick red of the saleen or just say screw it and go with the coverlays...

Hey how good is the fit of the coverlays. I tried some of the cheaper ones but it has a horrible fit on the bottom. Did the bottom edge's fit right? They kept popping off on me. Did the provided glue work well and was it enough for both sides?

@@generolmatt4 as long as your patient installing coverlays everything will look as if it cane with the car brand new. Costed me roughly $178-$180
