BECOME A PATRON TO GET SONGS/TABS: www.patreon.com/coversolutions Played lightly over the neck pickup or in the middle part between pickups. Lowered action to get an agressive sound. I insist that this is played with light touch. Playing with harder touch or high action (as i do on most of my videos) will burn you out very fast and won't get the tone

Steve tickles the strings so a light touch is the correct way to go

One of those songs that cements a player in history. Steve Harris is a god

the section at 4:48 is perhaps the most important in Maidens history. Has defined this band for decades. This has to be one their top 5 songs.

couldn't agree more. the fact that such a legendary track (and riff) came out so early in the band's history is a testament to how legendary they are!

Been working on this one myself recently. Having the hand speed for it is challenging enough but the stamina needed to get through the whole song separates the men from the boys. Harris doing this regularly for two hour shows is why he's elite.

the fact that this legendary bass work was written by Steve Harris at his early 20's and he was self-taught makes it even more amazing
@kahwigulum10 ай бұрын
The only way to play Steve Harris lines is as lightly as possible with the amp turned way up. We're going for economy of motion and as little effort as possible for those faster sections. Play too hard even slightly and you won't make it to the end of the song. Now repeat for the whole set. Genius player, and this is a genius version. Very impressive.

mr. sir you’re a a great bass player and your tabs are the best, and thanks to you i’m now studying a music career as a bass player, and this wouldn’t be possible without the aid of your great tab sheets, so thank you so much.

I seriously LOVE Harris’s early, more punk inspired playing from the first two albums.

I learned this by ear decades ago and have always played the E to G section with the G on the 5th D string. I also play the fast intro build up section starting on B of the E string, moving to C on the E string, and then moving to the D 5th fret A string etc.. Love how different players approach the same thing. P.S anyone learning bass now, you will never know the pain of learning a song from a cassette player with no rewind function - turning the tape over and fast forwarding over and over and over and over and over and over.......

I played in a Iron Maiden cover band way back and not to sound pretentious but I would say in general I have quiet a good grasp at about 90 percent of their catalogue. However for some reason I never managed to play the part between 3:38 and 3:53 and it bugs me immensely. Anyone have any tips on how to approach it? I simply can't get up to speed with the record, not to mention their live performances that are even faster.
