Excellent video!! I was wondering if I should invest in a coverstitch because I have a new digital sewing machine, an old work horse serger....and now that I am making a lot of my own clothes...I am interested in the "finish" now that I have the basic constructions down.

EDIT, after watching through: I can only confirm what I first wrote. The troubleshooting section is particularly brilliant, but the whole class just made me so much more confident, and eager to use my coverstitch (a Janome 1000 CPX- not very different from the 2000). I'd already gotten two books on coverstitch machines and watched two classes on Craftsy/Bluprint when I bought this class and started watching. I'm only in the early videos still- I've just watched the one on the chainstitch- and I just have to say this is the clearest and most thorough set of explanations on coverstitch machines I've seen. THANK YOU!

I just purchased the Janome 2000CPX and feel so fortunate to have found you on KZbin. I registered and purchased your class on coverstitch machines and am so looking forward to learning about my new tool in my sewing arsenal.

I've had a BabyLock Euphoria for just over a year now, and I tend to use it on all my garment sewing now. This particular coverstitch machine has automatic tension and air threading loopers, so it almost sews itself. I can chain on or chain off, and the main thing I had to learn was how to stop and start when coverstitching in the round.

Nice to get a taste of your classes. Very professional, ladies! Don’t expect a coverstitch machine to enter into my small appartment soon, but still interesting to hear this intro, esp. the why and how of such a dedicate machine for what seemed a single function. Now I know better. 💕

What model is your Janome? How do the 900, 1000 and 2000 differ?

Thank you, I wanted to know the difference between a cover stitch machine and a serger. This video answered my questions.

I just (like two hours ago) bought a second hand 2000CPX and can’t wait to learn everything about it. One of the other commenters here mentioned your class and so I went and had a look. I’m definitely going to take your class as a way to learn my new machine. My question is whether you can go back at some later date and review a module? Do you have access to the classes for only a certain amount of time?

Your classes are yours forever. You can watch them anytime, anywhere just using your login details. You can also pause, rewind and watch repeatedly as you wish. Hope that helps 😘

Thank you for the video. I had thought I'd want a 5 thread coverstitch, as I'd assumed that meant it would be triple needle, but I have seen lots of 5 threads with just a twin needle. I have now come across a 4 thread, but triple needle and I'm wondering what the difference is between 4/5 threads. I'm assuming the stitches you can do, but having never owned one, I'm not sure what that would mean. Thank you.

I just bought the Janome 1000cpx with the extra accessories online. Is this a good machine ? I’m waiting for it to come in.. I’m hoping it’s not too complex. I’ve only ever used a sewing machine

All talk, no show. It still seems as though I can do everything mentioned here with my serger. No, I don't do lots of lycra. Am I missing something?
