12:39 Math is for blockers; CGB hovered over the Chariot but didn't add the 4 I am guessing in his mind he had planned on blocking it originally which is why he didn't count it. Too bad it would have been sweet to see the 6 damage to steal it on his turn.

Welcome to the fun. It should be a good base for the rest of this Standard, adapting as nessesary. From experience the rare duals were my first craft and they are well worth the investment.

I really like this version of burn because at 5 land it suddenly turns into burn midrange. At that threshold you can double spell with Igneous Inspiration, double spell with Florian on the turn you cast him, play Hungry for More twice, sac the token with Pit Fighter, kick Adversary, etc.. It also puts you just 2 lands away from kicking Roil Eruption or Mascot Exhibition. The potential to do 5-8 dmg to face off a topdeck in the late game when opponents think they've stablised is super fun.

It rarely happens, and it's way too expensive to be Mythic viable, but my favorite combo in my burn deck is Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus. Both their magecraft triggers creates a treasure and draws you a card for "infinite" one mana spells.

I really feel like this deck benefits from Burn Down the House to help either swing in for damage with the devils or to help build back against a game like that one against G/W where the opponent is just way too wide to get through with creatures

I said it on the other video with vampires but hello good game's vampire tribal is the absolute truth. It's fun and it uses slaughter specialist which is awesome because it's not considered a great card but it slaps in this deck.

I've been playing a lot of vampire burn and I really think the 1/1 vampire that pumps for 3 mana and has first strike is superior to the 2/1 that can cycle a card with a sacrifice. All the burn you have doesn't need that potential early extra damage, and because all your cards late game are mostly played pre and post combat threatening to pump/burn at combat often gets you that 1 damage in combat vs all the decks that have big bodies. But then again I've abandoned the vampire tribal theme splashed white for 1 card that is questionable so what do I know...

I've made the same experience! Voldaren Stinger is the card's name and it won me a lot of games because of the pump and firststrike. Pitfighter let me down too often...

If they had swapped Judith and Florian's abilities both their respective Standard decks would've been so much better. But for what we have, yeah Stinger is better than Pit Fighter and Nullpriest is better than Adversary because this can't walk the walk as an aggro deck, but can steal some wins with hard to block creatures as a tempo deck.

I think you mathed right in that mono green game, you counted 16 damage if you only blocked 1, you had 17 life. But then the snakeskin veil +1 counter pushed them to 17. I think it was an acceptable risk to take considering you weren't winning the game otherwise.

Needed to block with the Alchemist, probably on a cat and force them to use the Veil. Not sure it mattered at theat point, just block, ping and Roil kicked next turn. Still needed one point but you did say you needed to block with two before you declared blockers. If you had topdecked a Roil or Adversary you would have won. I have made much worse mistakes.😊
