Nope - he'll just find another obnoxious and annoying card, which is what Yorion became when it replaced Teferi as CGB's mainstay. I can't be the only one who thinks that Yorion is OP, making it just a tad boring if it's played _all the time_.

@@SmugAmerican Even though Eerie can provide a lot more value, Yorion is just so much more efficient. 5 vs 7 mana is a big difference, Ultimatum requires very specific mana compared to yorion, and Yorion also provides a flying body which Eerie might not. Eerie also folds to any kind of RIP effect, if there is no graveyard to return stuff from, it's just a dead 7 mana card in your hand. And you can't play Eerie as your companion, another advantage of Yorion is the accessability.

You are missing the giant that destroys all non-giant creatures. I used to play an all wraths deck before kaldheim with Ugin+Felidar retreat as win conditions. It did pretty well.

the only problem with this, or monowhite control in standard, is that the caskets and apparitions don't work well with board wipes at all, but you kind of need them b/c they're the only white removal you have that works with Yorion. I regularly get screwed because I put something in a box, then needed to wipe later, and the exiled thing came back to kill me.

I'm a little curious about the Magic history implied here in the intro, in the early days of Magic, was exile a mechanic? Back in the day, was the wrath of god effect similar to "exile all creatures"? Was the "cant be regenerated" clause in a wrath effect specific to giving hate against cards that have regenerate, or were there no other ways to get creatures out of the graveyard?

Exil was called "remove from the game". There was no exil zone. If you "exiled" something you just removed it from the current game. And bury was a keyword for destroy and can't be regenerated. So bury was a way to get around regenerate reliably.

@Todd Packer I'm not gonna argue that Simic isn't in it's best shape right now, but white was an overlooked color for a long time, and wraths and removal was its only saving grace. Now that Monowhite is a very popular deck in standard and Simic isn't, this joke might have gotten outdated. Before rotation and uro/spiral bans, simic was really strong and almost no one played white, and some people would still complain about wraths and ecds, although I find sweepers kinda situational, they might sit in your hand against a control matchup and be useless
