This is from Feb 28, 2020 - we need a more current version of similar info since it is now 4/2/2020. They have learned quite a few things in the last month.

Thank you, doctors, for putting this on KZbin. It helps us in the public domain to put this crisis in proper context. (Lots of panic out there...)

I am now in Vermont and when i lived in Louisville, Dr. Arnold treated me for pneumonia. He saved my life! Dr. Arnold is an EXCELLENT doctor! The University is one of the best in the country!

Damn the youtube algorithm... THIS is one of the best CoVID-19 lectures so far, and I only found it yesterday... Is there more somewhere? I'd love a new one like this, the synthesis of what is known is absolutely excellent. Especially comparing the endemic HCoVs to SARS-CoV-2. That is the question I've been wanting someone to ask for over a month now, but nowhere except here have I seen it discussed. Professor Arnold is also very entertaining :-) I wish I was a journalist (or even an active podcaster) local to him, I'd drag him into a studio and pick his brain for a few hours.

Thank you for your positive feedback! We would love to have Dr. Arnold return with more updates. However, given the circumstances, his presence is needed elsewhere, in various locations, all at once. We've created a page for COVID-19 related articles that we find could be helpful for our residents, physicians, and med students linked below: www.louisvillelectures.org/covid19 Thank you again for your kind works. They mean a lot to our Health Care Providers during these times. WASH YOUR HANDS!

@@UofLIM I have a follow-up appt at U of L Physicians with my Hepatologist Dr. Barve on March 30th. Do you know if they are going to postpone non-urgent appts or procedures due to the spread of COVID-19.? I don't want to cancel on my own because it takes too long to get an appt with that doctor.
@tgreaux5027
@tgreaux5027 4 жыл бұрын
@@karimaogden3875 Yes, of course they are going to cancel. You have no idea what's coming, do you? The medical services are going to be so overwhelmed and there's no reason to think things will be any better here than they are in Italy where they are literally having to practice "wartime medicine" where the very limited resources will have to be given to the people with the highest chance of survival and based on many other "moral and ethical" guidelines such as age, health, etc. For now, I would say just wait and see what happens but if things continue as I believe they will then DO NOT GO! I don't know why in God's name you would even want to be in a hospital filled with Coronavirus anyway, I mean are you trying to catch it? lol

Well they’re using it here in California. Our friend was already sick for four days before learning she has the COVID-19. Shortly after, her condition worsened and had to be intubated. After 24 hours on ventilator she is now breathing on her own. She was given Hydrochloroquine azithromycin. I believe this is what they’re using everywhere now according to the doctor.

Thanks for posting this. I'm not a student but this is very useful AND educational. People need to turn off the news. All that does is instill fear and that's the goal. Instead, learn about these threats and take that knowledge and apply it to your own life as well as you loved ones. Whatever happens is going to happen and how you deal with it is what counts. Fear weakens the immune system which in itself can make you sick. Don't do it!

I am "technically" in a "high risk" group. I am not panicking or freaking out about this or any other "illness" or virus. I just keep taking my vitamins and supplements. so far so good. vite C, D - 3 and L - Glutathione. the rest of my family is doing pretty much the same. As I said - so far so good. However, We are all honoring the "self - quarantine" thing - and wearing masks and gloves when necessary. I can't help but notice that when the H1N1 was going around we all had it. (not at the same time). Since then, we have not had a serious case of any kind of flu. - (no vaccinations) Coincidence? I'm certain that we will never know. I personally feel that keeping our immune systems strong has a lot to do with our good health. that and faith in our Higher power - God!
