COW POOP POND BLOCKAGE - Drain Pros Ep. 53
The best part about drain cleaning is not knowing what’s next! When I started the day I had no idea I’d be standing in a slurry pond of 8” deep liquid cow poop cleaning a 14” pipe.
Farm Life! In this video we are hydro scrubbing out a 14” plastic pipe that runs from the barn to the slurry poop to break up a sawdust/hay/poop blockage. After trying a couple different nozzles with used our warthog nozzle to destroy the build up and get the manure pumps back on!
Thanks for watching

Cows are far more curious than city slickers would believe. Sometimes they will "stampede" up to an object just to stand and stare at it. Scares hell out of townies, especially if the townie runs. The cows will chase them just to watch them.

On this one we were using the first two heads to go forwards to break up the clog, once the clog breaks free it carries most everything back to me with gravity. After the clog is removed I used the 6 pack nozzle to pulls everything back to me! I tried to work the last 25 feet several times to get any heavy debris out of the pipe, it pretty tough pulling back the hose when it gets over 3000 psi with 18 gpm with just one guy and loose footing in the pond. On a typical location we would jet all the way up with low pressure then turn it up and pull it back to the last 10 feet to clean the pipe spotless! 👍 Hope this helps, and thank you for asking!!

Wish you all the best Handy! I our area the going rate for jetting for some of the bigger companies goes from $275-450 per hour! Every area is different and every company has different overhead cost but don’t hesitate to call around to the shops and ask what their hourly cost is! Most places won’t give prices of other jobs out over the phone because it’s easier to provide a free estimate and meet with you face to face but typically a jetter is an up sell and will have a set price 👍

Your water tank by itself inside the trailer is enough for this job? Do you only have 1/2” jetting hose and 1/4” jetting hose for the jetter? Do you ever jet bathtubs, showers, kitchen sinks, lav sinks?
@DrainPros
@DrainPros 4 жыл бұрын
On the jetter we have 500’ of 1/2” hose and use that primarily for sewer lines 3-8”. We have a 1/4” trap hose that we can use on floor drains and other smaller pipes but the pump puts out 18 gpm so it would flood most indoor job. We have several other small jetters that run off the house connection with a garden hose that are better suited for indoor work!

Drain Pros was the water tank itself capable of finishing the job or did you have to hook a garden hose to it?

Crescent Normally I keep a change of clothes in the van with everything I would need to fully change! On this one unfortunately I didn’t have a spare outfit so we had a smelly ride back to the office! 😂
