When you were videoing this, shouldn't you resque the baby bird too?

It’s better for evolution for the birds to learn naturally although it was very sad to see. Sometimes cuckoos aren’t as lucky but it’s likely to be a trait all birds catch onto eventually

I understand that you cant remove the cowbird but that oriole hung in there long enough to be saved before it fell. An indentation on the other side of the nest to place it in would have given it a chance or you could have handfed it or called a society to take care of it.

Did the baby oriole peck a bald spot on the cow birds chest? If so, that little oriole put up a good fight.

OK! This is the province of nature.

Cowbird is a parasitic impostor! Male Orioles are beautiful!

#1 It is not human’s job to save some little birds every time they are having crisis. #2 The mother bird is the one which should take blame here. If it built a better nest instead of shitty one that looks ready to collasp at the slightest gust of wind, the chick might have had better chance at survival

So that's it? You just kept out of it and allowed the baby bird to die?! For that you get a well deserved down vote.

Well it was the baby birds fault for getting in the way.

Dude, that's nature. Plus most people don't actually check the nest or watch it on a daily basis, they'll just set up a movement camera to pick choice moments.

Cow birds, being a species native to the U.S. are protected under the Migratory birds act. Intentionally harming the adults, chicks or the eggs is a crime without a special permit.

It’s Brood Parasitism the female cowbird drops by and leaves an egg sometimes she takes one of the Eggs You can’t remove it as the mother is nearby and will harm the eggs or chick if you or the host birds try and remove it Cuckoos are the biggest brood parasites as the chick when hatch first and will remove the remaining eggs one by one so they get all the food

@@BobbNaef You can remove it I've seen it done with no problems.

@@ProphetsAmongUsPeople actually think the bird police are going to show up and arrest them for removing a parasite egg or chick.... WHO'S GONNA SEE?!?!
