Cowboy Boot Comparison J-Toe VS Snip Toe

Both of these cowboy boots are Dan Posts.

like X Toe boots. They're very narrow snip toes, basically. Best pair I had were a pair of Larry Mahan deer tans in black with narrow X Toes. I had plenty of J Toes from Justin and one pair of Snip Toes from Lucchese.

I grew up in the 70s. More people use to wear j toes back then. Which is still my favorite.

Grew up in the late 80s/90s myself. I didn't grow up in area where a lot of boots are worn but I saw mostly R toes for the guys that did.

I wear snip toes. Black Snip Toe boots make an outfit look sharper. When I scuffed the tips of my boots, I sanded them with 400 sandpaper and wiped them with rubbing alcohol and spray painted the tip with gloss back paint. The boots look way better than they did before being painted

I think that the snip-toe looks a bit more modern while the J-toe looks like what I saw in 70's American TV shows. Sendra makes a model (2605) which is kind of in-between the two: more pointy than your black J-toe but does not have that defined edges that your brown Snip-toe boot.
