I loved this book. First and FOREMOST, always put God #1 in your life, and grow together in marriage. My husband came from England to work in the States in 1979, we knew each other 3 wks, got married, and 32 wonderful years of marriage before getting ill and passing in 2010. Such memories keep me so happy. Pam Coleman, Crewe, England

Mr Dyess, it's really special how I can always recognise Miss Charlene's voice every time I hear it although you're doing all the voices. You gave her a very distinctive voice and it's the same in every book. I don't know how you do it. Some readers make all "elderly" mothers's voices sound like that of a five year old child, trying to give then a soft voice, I guess. You're one of the best reader I've ever listened to.
@SaywithJay2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Colly! I'll admit that is one of the things that I'm a teensy bit proud of (and work hard to do) - giving everyone as distinct a voice as I can, and keeping it consistent from book to book. I do kind of cheat, I suppose, in that I keep little sound clips of nearly every character I do, so I can refresh my memory if need be - but Miss Charlene isn't one I forget! 🙂

I loved the theme lesson in this one. I can’t wait to teach my kids to view relationships this way. Especially when they get old enough to want romantic relationships. It’s such a common sense, fundamental thing, that… doesn’t “exist” much anymore? Probably because we are all in a “me first” age. It was a nice, laid back read.

I am so grateful for these books. When I was younger I read books that took me away from the spirit. When I realized the damage that those books were doing to my soul. I stopped reading listening to romantic novels all together and read other books. Then I found on audible this whole genre of books that were labled clean romance which lead me to Guessman and Dyes's work. I have been so excited about being able to enjoy the romance stories again and I feel closer to Christ then ever before when reading. I have even found some of the spiritual aspects that I have struggled with are similar to some of the characters and has helped me understand them in a different light. Thank you for making these stories available. 😊

Another great audiobook story, @JessieGussman as your novels are entertaining and lesson to be learned through love patience, and communication, I've seen we're I need changing thank you and as always you base your stories on the christian walk and the one we need to look up to Jesus Christ who will lead us into His divine will for our lives 😊 Patience is a virtue if you truly love someone waiting should not be a problem if you love that person and want to spend the rest of your life with them. @Jay you always know how to bring the story to life thank you 😊 God bless you both 🙏🏾 ❤️

This is a great series, with lots of lessons to improve one's Christian walk. I also read them on Kindle and Audible. There are inconsistentencies with Daphne's and Katie's last names. I thought Daphne's name was Lessing, but at 16:04, her name is Rowland (sp). In various books, Katie's name has been Lessing, Dettinger, and Nigelly. I think that's more of a writer issue than a narrator issue.

I am currently reading this story in ebook format and I am glad to hear it in audiobook format. The Fall scenery on chapter one is beautiful and fitting for this time of year. The leaf colors seem to be more vibrant this year here in Virginia. You are doing great managing the different voices. I can't wait to find out how this story ends.

That thought of staying with the family is a good, but in today's world poeple are judged when they do that and also, you'd need to have the kind of relationship where the parents don't enable their adult childre in being irresponsable. Lets hope and pray that many people will read and learn from your wonderful books.
@JessieGussmanauthor2 жыл бұрын
That's an excellent point. People should work and earn their own living regardless of where they live. Amish children are expected to work and hand their money over to their parents often until they're in their twenties. It's a culture of living for others and paying back what's been given to you.

I really love these wonderful books, but it makes me sad that a lot of them seem do the neutral pronoun thing, sometimes using the pronoun "they" which is the plural pronoun, when talking about just one person. This is giving in to the new way for trans mentality. I personnaly would be tempted to use "it" wich is neutral and singular instead for those people, since they insist on gender neutrality. I'm sorry if I seem to be judging or disrespectful, but it's not the people I judge, but their actions. It is they who disrespect us by insisting that everyone else accept that mentality, especially in schools.
@JessieGussmanauthor2 жыл бұрын
Oh, goodness. I'm sorry it's reading that way for you. It's certainly not the way I intended it. I'll try to be more careful. Thanks for pointing it out to me. : )
