The more I've listened to them, the more I'm able to appreciate the beauty & greatness of these individuals through the brilliance of their bittersweet music. Perhaps what makes them so appealing & relatable to some is their music seems born of their own unique experience & struggle with life's familiar abyss of pain, human imperfection, frailty, & constant trial, which they've, nonetheless, overcome via sheer determination & will to succeed with the resulting extraordinarily blessed, unique artistic expression that is entirely their own. I was at a summer concert in Winter Park CO and I was walking around with a cool Cowboy Junkies T-shirt (brown t-shirt with big white block letters that said: COWBOY JUNKIES) on and a woman said "All right, a Cowboy Junkies fan." I turned around and I realized it was Margo the singer from Cowboy Junkies. I was like: "I am totally a Cowboy Junkies fan." She was happy that I knew who the band was because they were just getting national attention. She was just so casually naturally beautiful and friendly. I felt so good just standing next to her talking with her. And later on when the band took the stage they were most excellent.

@@spiderz81 If you ever hear birds singing, see kids playing and people scurry by, talking on a cell phone like you don't exist, you may feel isolated from the world. I did. It was tough to get moving in the morning but remember you're not alone. Some of us can empathize. Living in a haunted house made me realize that we don't have souls. WE ARE SOULS that travel in bodies like drivers in cars. That's not a joke. It was real. A foot on the gas pedal and a full tank of gas are a combination of motivation and ambition. Your tank is nearly empty but it will get refilled. The brakes are your self-control and the rear view mirror contains memories of what you've been through. The windshield is how we view situations we approach. Going through some nasty puddles can alter one's view of the world. Good wipers and enough fluid are like spiritual cleansing. Where the road ahead diverges are the choices we can make.

I know this song from the film, Natural Born Killers. I grew up to this film, (don't judge me) is incredibly surreal and abstract. Written by Tarantino, actually about the mass murderer Starkweather and his girlfriend. Quentin has secretly been obsessed with this story(knowing the story and knowing his films will make that evident), but is also the first time woody Harrelson played a dark role. The reason the director picked woody is because of woody's past; the fact he grew up being raised by a father who made his money by being a hitman. Imagine that. The greatest stories are the ones never told... just hinted on by little remarks that go unnoticed. Like gems inside geods that go unbroken for thousands of years.

90's always had the 60's vibe to me... a touch of hippies and open-minded music going on. The style even reverted to '60s in some instances. Great decades both, had their problems, but oh so much greatness. 50's, 70's and 90's best decades ever. I'm 55 so I was born in 66, so I didn't get to experience the 60's as a young adult like I would have, but I did get to experience the 90's as a twenty-something and it was fucking great!!!

I operated the camera for both this video and Fast Car for director Matt Mahurin. Every couple of years I watch this one and it brings me right back to the shoot. Margo is so hauntingly beautiful and has the voice of an angel, and the music is so perfect, subtle yet has such a powerful quiet build. I wish I had access to all of the footage because we did entire takes in close up, slowly dollying as Matt waved a light around to create his signature lighting style...I'd love to see those performances. I've worked thousands of days in this business since then, but that is one day I will never forget.

a cowboy junkies cover of the velvets' matrix live performance. in my humble opinion the most beautiful version of sweet jane; laid back and sensual, with lyrics to kneel down to. i bought the trinity session album when it came out, in '89. seems like an entire lifetime that's gone by since. if anybody out there wants to test their time machine, tell me, and i'll be your volunteer to travel back into the eighties. love and peace everybody, best wishes from austria ! ❤️🐌.... ... .. .

I was living in Southern California, , it was the late '90s and I was driving home late one night trying to find a station that was worth listening to. I came across a station out of Mexico that played alternative music, and heard Sweet Jane for the first time. Every member of this band is just beautiful in real life. Most musicians you see them in concert or at an event and it's like , wow, unrecognizable compared to the version of them seen in music videos and on t.v. I met these guys when I was bartending in New Orleans back in the late 90's and was blown away by how pretty and kind they each were. If I had to guess a band that might possibly be done sort of supernatural beings like angels or vampires, my money would be on them. Plus and this is a big deal, they tip well and are very nice to the servers and didn't turn away a single person who asked for an autograph. This was back in the day before iPhones and selfie sticks.

i was once sitting by myself in a country bar in Coquitlam called "Boone County". I was sharing an ashtray with a girl next to me. then I finally had the nerve to look at her, I told her she looked just like the singer from "the cowboy junkies", what's her name I continued. She reached out her hand and introduced herself,"margo timmins, it's so nice to be recognized out west", she said. we spent the rest of the night talking, she was so nice and down to earth. and hot.
