Hi Cowboy Kent. It's coming up on it's 150 year maintenance. I'm sure you'll see to it! (Got an old 1936 John Deere Model B tractor still as good as new at the fishing cabin, and we joke that it's coming up on it's 100 year maintenance in a few years.)

Folks I meant to honor hard work, taking care of each other being resourceful... if you can make politics out of that I am confused. I grew up around men like that, my grandparents were born in 1890,1893, 1902 and 1905. They were pretty much like these guys. BTW I say no politics presented and I stand by them .... me? I am age 70

I'm a city boy born and raised in Pittsburgh on Italian and Polish food( which I love), but this life and down home style country cooking is amazing...never really get to the mid or southwest, but anytime I go down south I never eat at a chain restaurant, try to eat at as many authentic home style joints as I can...

My thoughts exactly, cookingwithtomtom!! My husband & I love to cook together & experiment. We're known as the Family Cookies to our families & are asked (invited-?? lol) to travel to THEM to make holiday meals too frequently, so we've had to use our military training & camping skills to adapt & modify to different (& sometimes ill-equipt) cooking facilities & conditions so many times that Kent & Shannon's videos have become inspirational for us... He wakes us up in the morning & puts us to bed @ night! And during the middle of the day, when things get stressed or we just need a positive & inspirational face, we'll turn Kent on on KZbin ❤.

How could people dislike this? Theses old traditions are sadly dying out just like the old farmers and southern traditions where I'm from. Didn't have chuck wagons but everybody damned sure looked forward to going back to the house and getting some of grandma's cooking after being out in the fields. It's a shame.

EXACTLY. You know as well as I do Kent and Shannon, you need to hug a Farmer and a Cowboy every time you see them and THANK THEM for our stocked shelves in the grocery store. As a Cattle Rancher for 25 years, we went through H and back to get that beef to market. The wind and the torn up tarp reminded me of how many times in the winter, my brains were froze to the side of my head, while out feeding cattle. God Bless.

I’m no cowboy. But I’m a Christian. And a Conservative. As we see where our country is headed it bodes well in my heart and soul to see a video like this. To see the young man standing under the fly in a hat as big as he is. Whether you’re a cop, drive truck, build houses, fight fires or (like I do) produce real news that can just barely eek by on the Internet, we are all Americans and this group of men and women, people who “say grace and say amen”...these are the people I’m sticking with and standing with. The craziness we see out of San Francisco, Portland, Seattle...I don’t know. I don’t want to get too political on Cowboy Kent’s channel but it’s not looking good, folks. Say your prayers. Work hard. Vote your conscience next November. And if you have a Bible read Deuteronomy 28. God bless you all. -Jon Robberson, Producer, Caravan to Midnight

If you travel off the the major highways and away from cities west of the Mississippi, and just study the countryside you could then get a better idea that this is indeed still a thing. 90% of all Americans have never truly experienced real, rural America - that still takes up @ least 90% of our land mass.

Thank you for these videos Kent. I have always been interested in how and what cowboys ate. The old westerns we see on TV and at the cinema show us very little about the chuck wagons and the food cowboys ate. In Britain we say an army marches on it's stomach and no doubt I'm sure a cowboy will ride on his stomach too. While in the USA I bought a little book 'Chuck Wagon Cooking' and I have always wanted to prepare a 'chuck wagon' type of BBQ or dinner. After watching your videos it's giving me the confidence to do this.

Fantastic video. Kent & Mrs Shannon thanks for the video! This was a great one. Im a cook myself and for me there is something that as the years go by there is nothing like having strangers comment on your food. I ain't cooking for ranchers but me and my brothers do get out in the wilderness when we can and something I learned long ago is just let one person handle it, (Me), and what do you know, everyone works hard to make that persons life easier if it means a full and SATISFIED belly! Those winds you get I feel for you. I'm here in the panhandle of Texas myself and when traveling across the US it tickles me to hear people complaining about 20 mph winds. They act like they are going to get blown away. As for the great plains, well we have seen people and everything you can imagine get blown away! Still working through these videos! I look forward to running into you one day so I can shake your hands for sharing these great recipes and quality entertainment. Take care!

Great Video Kent. I work a ranch in Wy. way way back and we had a great cook, must have been 200 years old. :) But learned a great lesson from him the second day. I learned when the bell rung you had better be there, I kinda slept in some and when I got to the wagon he said "Did you miss breakfast ?" "Yes sir" (I had been told always call the cook sir) "Well don't worry you will find out what it is tomorrow, we have about the same thing every day". Dam it seemed like a long time till lunch.

told you before about my boy scout experiences we had what we called patrol boxes similar but smaller than your chuckwagon (probably about 2' deep x 3' wide x 2' tall) with removable legs , it had handles at ea end to carry to campsite. front and back were drop-down ,hinged doors . they were lined with aluminum sheets (for protection from hot pots) we had much of the same items that we used to prepare meals .

Thanks for letting us in on the cowboy way and letting people know it's not a 9 to 5 job. You eat when you can, laugh when you can but it's work like most of us never get to know. I liked most what you said about them laughing and joking about something that happened that day that probably damn near killed someone. My nights of relaxing is watching your short videos. Thank you.

Hi Pard! First, a big thank you to you for sll your hard work on the channel! Y’all are a real blesding to me. My wife (50 yrs) had lots of surgery on her ankle and that means I have to cook! Learning from you quick! I like to keep busy around the house here with a project or two. I took a Harbor Freight trailer, some old fence boards, pvc pipe and painter’s tarp and made a little chuck wagon. I am working on the box now. Thanks again Kent!

God bless you Kent and shan and along with all the hard working, dust eating American cowboys. I'm family comes from the old mining west. Although different, very much the same. I get soft in the heart when I watch these videos. God bless America and the working people that truly made this country what it is today. I placed an order to help support you guys and the values you stand for! Funny, my pup loved your chutney as he got to the package before I could... ha! He even got some that original to go with it! Love you guys, please keep up the good work. 👍

I just started watching your videos several weeks ago, and I enjoy watching you cook all that delicious food. But the most impressive thing for me is how you honor our heavenly father. God bless you and your family Kent and keep making the videos. Even though I'm not a cowboy or a country boy, I do appreciate the lifestyle and respect the way of life and hard work you all do out there.

I just love watching your videos. I love your personality. I'm a retired nurse and have had to work 16 hours a day sometimes with only 1 meal and only GOD knows how much coffee but your job sounds way harder than mine was. I feel sorry for the new cowboy who was told to go up past the cookline on his first day by the older cowboys. Just because they wanted to haze someone. GOD bless you, your wife and your dogs.
