Here is a magnificent song from 1991 from the late, great George Michael. In my humble opinion, songs rarely get better than this. An incredible striking intro and what made this ‘pop song’ unique is that it was written as a jazz waltz. I just love the way that this song is structured and you can do so much with it... I think it’s a masterpiece. As I’m on solo piano, I’m using a lot of the octaves to bring out the rhythm of the song, and keeping that waltz tempo flowing. This is in the key of A Minor and it moved to C for the bridge.

I think it was the song that George Michael enjoyed the most in his last concerts when he finally managed to capture it live after so long since he had it archived or in the Frezzer and he owed it to himself.

Very, very good. But of course the true genius is George's composing. I would love to have been in the room with him when he was composing the original, just to get an idea of what was going through his mind and his thought process at the time. What a tragic loss. I don't think anybody actually realised just how much George was in trouble and how help was seriously needed. I'm sure he would be delighted with your rendition as you play it so delightfully.

I am just glad I got to meet George once (very briefly though) in person (back in 2004) and thank him for the sonic backdrop to childhood, teenage years overseas, and early adulthood. I might just drop hard cash for the transcription of this song though. Patience ain't my forte...lol!

That was actually, an awful abomination of the original. Nothing at all to be celebrated or applauded. Unnecessary added notes. This was the piano equivalent of Mariah Carey throwing her own, exaggerated vibrato into cover songs that were originally much simpler, but better. You, adding all of those extra notes to the original composition made it clowninish.
