@@troy028 The Defense has nothing to do with us going 3 and out so consistently. He is inconsistent (either throwing behind the receiver or throwing at the ground or throwing a pick). Even the easy pass out of the backfield to a RB is thrown on the wrong side of the RB which screws up his momentum. Dak is also not composed in the pocket. For a guy that use to run more as a QB, he now seems to be very timid and will not run the ball when needed. The only consistency during Dak's 8 years is Dak and Jerry Jones. So the problem isn't everyone else. Dak's stats are padded due to the weak conference that the Cowboys are in. How often has Dak taken the reigns and led the team to victory over a legit contender? I will also agree that some of that is going to be coaching (which is a Jerry Jones problem).

It takes a casual level of ball knowledge to think that Rush is anywhere on the same stratosphere as Dak, let alone the same level or better. Dak is coming off a season where he was an all pro, runner up in MVP and voted the sixteenth best player in the NFL by his peers. Cooper Rush would be lucky to even have a pro bowl caliber year. For him to be an All Pro would need some serious magic from the football gods. And this year, while it was clearly a down year for Dak, I did see Dak carry the Cowboys to a win against a competent Steelers team. I mean, if not for Dak jumping on the Dowdle fumble/throwing the game winning touchdown in the fourth, that’s another loss in their W/L record. Honestly, Dak is a good litmus test for ball knowledge. Because the only people really downplaying him are either fans, former division rivals or players like Dan Orlovsky who cannot even scratch the surface of what Dak has done. Meanwhile people who either played or coached at an elite level like Rodgers, like Brady or like Belichick have had nothing but heaping praise for Dak.

The reason they're 4-7 is that they're simply bad this year. Zack Martin is nearing the end and the rest of the O line is just turnstiles and penalty machines. Running game is non existent because of the weak O line. Jerry thought he could lose key players to free agency without making any real signings and it shows. Injuries matter, but nothing about the scheme Dallas runs on either side of the ball is effective with the personnel available at any time. And finally, Cowboys need some young, innovative blood coaching the team. Every time they show HC, DC and ST coaches, all I see is old men with outdated concepts. Use your eyes, not your heart. You know I'm telling the truth.
