The Cowboys offense is struggling again. Back against the wall, Mike McCarthy went with what he liked and not what worked last year (i.e. stolen plays). The offense got going last year when Dak & Lamb got going and it was “Dak/Lamb save us.” If you’re looking for hope here, the Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb stats before the bye last year are not that far off from what they are right now.
CeeDee Lamb stats before the bye:
2024: 55 Targets, 32 Catches, 467 yards, 2 TD, 2 Drops
2023: 42 targets, 34 catches, 475 yards, 1 TD, 0 Drops
Dak Prescott stats before the bye:
2024: 63.4%, 1,602 yards, 7.2 AVG, 8 TD, 6 INT
2023: 69.5%, 1,333 yards, 7.0 AVG, 6 TD, 4 INT

If Dalvin Cook is healthy, then get his ass out there. If he can't play, then get his ass outta here and feed Dowdle and Luepke. And add Turpin and Vaughn on some sweeps and bubble screens. DO SOMETHING! Use double TE sets to help chip block the rush AND add more targets for Dak. The only way to help the defense is to improve the offense. Keep the opponent's offense on the sidelines with ball control and clock killing drives.

A couple of things we saw in the Pittsburgh game were a dedication to the run and a fight that is seldom seen in this Cowboys team. They did not play well in Pittsburgh but found a way to win on the road. To be honest, when we fumbled on 3rd and goal, I thought, "same 'ol Cowboy's". There is talent here and we can run the football but it will take effort the rest of the way. Running the ball will open up the rest of the offense and create an identity that has been missing for years. If I had a trade list I would like another WR, another RB and a DT. A few years ago Jerry traded for Amari Cooper and it turned the season around for the Cowboys. He traded a 6th round pick to the Raiders for Hankins and he helped our run defense. A versatile RB that can be added to the passing game would give this offense another dimension.

For Lamb, you gotta look at the INTs when thrown to. 3 so far this year. And lots more targets means significantly lower YPT. His QB rating when thrown to is in the 70s. Just not the same productivity between Dak and Lamb.

As far as Dalvin Cook yes bring him up to the main roster. Dallas knows what type of player he is. They played against him in the past. So they already know what he excels at. Dalvin is a outside zone , sweep, screens ,pitch type of RB. But the Cowboys might be trying to make him something that he is not ( inside zone RB , between the tackles RB) . That's not his Dalvins game. Cowboys know what Dalvin is. If they don't know by now what he excels at. Then why did they sign him to begin with?

We need an OC, Coach McCarthy has been terrible in choosing offensive plays. Losing Kellen Moore, and then losing Dan Quinn as the DC, has had a massive impact on this team. One wonders how far we would have gotten if both Moore, and Quinn had been on the team when they were in their prime years. 1. Hire a competent Offensive coordinator, so McCarthy can focus more on being a coach, and less on wearing two hats. 2. Hire a more competent Defensive coordinator, lets be honest, his debut this year has been far from great. 3. Get a better option in WR2, Lamb needs someone to take the attention, trading Cooper was a mistake. 4. Elevate Cook to the lineup, so you can run the ball on the perimeter, outside runs are something that work, HB sweeps, outside running would open up the play book even more. 5. Develop some dang new plays....

Look at the Longhorn offense…they use motion on almost all of their plays. They use misdirection to create indecision with the opposition’s defense. This is a way to create space for Deuce. I hope someone in the Cowboys staff have watched DV’s game film and how the Wildcats used him. But it sure doesn’t seem to have happened.

Why not show Asim Richards as an olineman. Currently PFF of 65, which would put him 3rd on the team, a little above Steele, and a lot above Guyton. Richards was about 65 last year too. He has looked like a legit starter when he has gotten the chance. And we have him for 2 more years for nothing. Definitely a possibility we should explore with Steele costing a lot and not playing better. And Guyton *probably* gets better, but we don't know that. Continuity is nice, but seeing what you have is nice too. And since this season isn't going anywhere, lets get *both* Richards and Guyton developed and evaluated. .

Coach is gonna have to change everything on offense with the bye week at best this year is a 7-10 season. It gets us in the top ten maybe in the draft but that alone doesn't help us enough. We are gonna have to move a superstar to get the picks we need. Remember Campbell trading the DB for a first round to build out their roster. And we are to predictable im sitting in my chair and i know what we're running. Draws screens do something. Not just losing is the worst but looking like well let's just throw up fifty fifty balls is our best play. Bad Bad Bad offense effort and play calling

Given Cook a shot. It can't get any worse with their running game. Giving Dak another long contract was a mistake. He never delivers. Always says the right thing but never takes it to the field.

I never thought Guyton was coming in and playing great the hope was good. Steele has not gotten back to his play that earned him his contact. Our whole offensive line play has been bad . Dak is not accurate most of the time this year he's hearing the pass rush at times. You want to play very good football just fix our lines on both sides of the ball

Hated the Guyton pick and he is proving me right. We could have done better with someone else. Beebe needs to move to guard. Hoffman at center. Smith and Steele at the Tackle spots amd leave Martin where he's starred. Fire Mccarthy as OC/HC maybe as well.
