Dallas Cowboys rumors from insider Jon Machota of The Athletic include a report that the Cowboys aren’t done adding talent to the running back room and that Ezekiel Elliott is primed to be the RB1 for the Cowboys over Rico Dowdle. No matter who you put in the backfield, if the O-Line is trash, your RB1 will not be productive. I know Zeke has lost a few steps, but he's not gonna make it pass the O-Line if their not good. I think Dallas should use the FB more to help with the run/pass blocking & also give him some touches, he's pretty decent.

I will fight alone on the hill that running backs actually don’t matter . And you literally can plug anyone back there and it can work. Teams do it quite literally every season. Rams, Pittsburgh, chiefs, jags, pats, are all teams that have had success with insert default running back #247. Join the dark side build your line and watch the run game flourish

I ain't even going to pretend I know what Zeke has left. But we need to stop with misleading stats. In 2021 and 2022 Zeke had knee injuries so of course his numbers are going to dip. Last year he got to tote the rock what 10 times a game? Behind an O line that was worse than ours? We also have no idea on what McCarthy intends to do with Zeke. We definitely need a RB1 regardless. It's never a bad idea to bring in good players especially a position of need.
