Thank you for posting, on the TEF we had on a brass plague under the KI-Gas pump it gave full instructions for cold starting, and using the Handle and the decompression feature to assist starting in the cold., however we could never turn it on decompression, let alone fast enough to start it. They put the front decompression lever where you could reach whilst cranking, they must have been fit guys back in the day if anyone ever did start it with the handle.

I can also remember trying to start the Fergy on the handle using the decompressor lever, but it would just stop dead when you put it back on compression, so I was never successful. I can’t remember reading the starting instructions, but it was over 60 years ago!

You need to get the jack under it. Wear in the front axle pin etc. will cause that!

Glad I don’t have a starting handle, it would probably hit the top of the radiator 😆🫣

Bore and sleeve the casting ? or are new ones available and cheap............
@CowfarmerDan2 күн бұрын
Not available as far as I know. It's a steel fabrication rather than a casting.
