Thanks for the video. I've got one to do myself and this helps me since I've never done one by myself. Always looking over my dad's or my friends shoulder .

Very interesting, takes me back to my days as a young teenager fiddling with carburettors on my very old off road motorbikes. Back then, I had very little knowledge, no manual and no Internet !!

As someone who really doesn’t like carbs that made it less scary to open one up. I’m still a diesel man though 🤣😁

Hi Dan, just found you on here, I am really enjoying your channel. I am a big fan of vintage Thursday as I am really into the older tractor's and machinery but at the same time I do enjoy your newer machinery and farming videos. I post videos now and then on ploughing mnatches and shows I attend. Looking forward to your next video.

Not to be stepping on your toes friend but if I can make a recommendation to soak the carberator in a carberator parts cleaner over night will save you headaches in the future. The venturi and atomization to air/fuel mix is critical for these great carberators. What we have not been shown is a few tiny air vent holes that must be cleaned out. These tiny vents contribute to the atomization of the fuel to create a precise combustion. Atomized fuel compared to raw fuel combustion is your fuel efficiency, not to mention fouling out plugs. Another thing I might add, if your spark isn't good and you have an exhaust/intake manifold gasket leak, your carberator adjustments are mostly non functional. That is, if you have an updraft fuel system. Ferguson tractors typically are 4 cylinder updraft motors. They key to knowing your next step to adjusting your carberator is how much choke is needed, if needed to run smoothly at operating temperature.

Really interesting video stripped and rebuilt Zenith 24t and 28g plenty of times but never had anything to do with a marvel carb so nice to see the differences. I bought a job lot of Fergie spares and there was a float assembly and rebuild kit in there I didn't recognise now I know what it's for 😂

Any chance you would be able to find and send me the link for the rebuild kit? Thanks and great video!

Have a Ferguson to30 continental engine runs good for a few minutes then dies?
@CowfarmerDan3 жыл бұрын
Could be either a fuel blockage or maybe the coil is breaking down.
@truckhtr3 жыл бұрын
@@CowfarmerDan ok thanks I'll check it out when it's running it has lots of power till it cuts out and dies but it will restart but die until it sets a bit.
