He was diagnosed with cancer about a year or so ago and has been undergoing some pretty hefty chemotherapy. Apparently it gave him one hell of a facial rash (Which is why he didn't want photos taken of him at signings during Coxcon) and the reason he looks like he's in pain is because it also gave him some nasty mouth ulcers so it hurts to talk. As he said though, "People paid to see me" I'm not particularly fond of him always but I'll give the guy props, he's got some serious pain threshold.

GUIDE TO NOT GET SPOILED (but still be able to watch + listen to the whole thing): 1) When they are looking at roles, there will be a total of four "swoosh" sounds. One to show Hitler, one to show the fascist... Then at the third "swoosh" the liberal cards will come up and, TB will say "open your eyes" - DO NOT. Only at the fourth "swoosh" sound (at 7:45) do the cards disappear, and you can safely watch. 2) Only a mild spoiler, but regardless: do not watch the screen between 30:30 and 30:45.

Having suffered severe acne when I was a teenager, I fully understand the unwillingness to be on photo or video - let alone be on a stage in front of hundreds. I know the kind of looks you get, it sucks. I've also had a 8½ hour jaw surgery some years ago, so while I can't even imagine the pain one has to go through after chemotherapy - I do know what it's like having to suffer constant pain whilst talking and eating. You're absolutely fucking amazing TB. I can't even imagine what pain and exhaustion you must've gone through for the convention. Yet you did it because fans wanted and expected to see you at your friend's convention, that is some true friendship if I ever saw it. Unfortunately I wasn't there to sign the book of positive comments so I guess this'll be my entry. Thank you for everything you've done. Not only for having helped shape the better part of KZbin, but also the incredible amount of work you've put into the gaming industry.

Hey I'm having jaw surgery soon , just wondering which one did you have and how long did it take to say , start eating and or talking?

I had surgery for having an open bite, which is the trickiest according to my surgeon(and most likely to return to its original state, which it kind of has done a bit). Talking I could more or less do from the get-go to some extent, as for eating, you'll be stuck with liquid-based foods for a month or two depending on how well you heal. After surgery you may be fairly swollen, I was, so don't panic if you look into the mirror - it's to be expected. It can also be painful initially, but you should be getting drugs - the first 2 or 3 days I was occasionally on morphine which was amazing. Not amazing in that getting high kind of way, but rather that it's instant pain relief. I'm not sure if all jaw surgeries have braces but if you do, expect to use sort of rubber rings to keep your jaw shut at pretty much all the time. This is to prevent the body from trying to re-adjust the jaw to where it used to be despite having had surgery. This was the hardest part for me as I prefer to breathe with my mouth. And you can't talk nor eat obviously. This you're supposed to do for months which is unfathomable so I cheated a fair bit in the end. It's not a pleasant experience, but even though in my case it's started to go back to where it was, I don't regret it. I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery. It's quite a journey so hopefully family and friends will help support you. :)

The best part of this is watching Jerard, completely break down due to anxiety while playing. Just watch him when he was president. Also knowing that TB gets accused of being Hitler most of the time (while being Liberal also most of the time) I did not believe him and completely new guy could win. But some luck and they did.
