I really do appreciate the beat suggestion, Cillian - I am now investigating what it would take to fish all the way up to Lake Lyell…with a car shuttle…

Hey Robert- matt from the Jensen patreon! Good to see getting some on this stretch - tried it a few months ago was real tough - very low and really spooky

Great to make contact with you Matt - you can see how influenced I am by the content that Dave & Amelia Jensen are sharing with us - such a wonderful resource for anybody who wants to take their flyfishing to the next level - let’s get together for a fish sometime soon…(contactable on Instagram - Lord _ _ Gadget)

I'm hoping you pull out the Squirmies in Part 2. That's classic squirmy water...

I should have given Squirmies ago - you are right Matthew - thing is, I find Squirmies hard to cast - so, although I do have them in my flybox (but not in my day box on that particular day) I rarely use them…but they can be very effective - lasts year fished the Eucumbene with a close friend of mine, Graham Kenny, and he fished a pink Squirmy the whole day and slayed the trout…

@robertlouis24 That's strange that you find them hard to cast. I tie mine with only a single strand coming off the shank and with a 3.8mm bead, and they cast like a rocket (mono rig a la @Troutbitten). I also like an ice dub collar to give them a bit of pizzazz!

Nice to see and cast to fish in those backwaters and verges.

Thanks - it was quite a unique (and memorable) day of fishing for me - I did not actually catch a fish that day while casting - in both cases, all that I did was hover my rod over the fish, look for unusual movement by the fish, and strike…
