So this new grill from Coyote is a breath of fresh air! There really isn’t a lot available in the high end pellet smoker space. Especially in a stainless steel finish. Most smokers are the traditional barrel style, and the problem with that is they really don’t flow in an outdoor kitchen space. So the options have always been limited when it comes to built in pellet grills that can be installed in outdoor kitchens. Coyote has come out with a great pellet smoker that offers pretty cool features. Probably the best and coolest feature is the fact that you can sear with a pellet smoker. With the insert option to give you direct flame. This baby can sear a steak pretty easy. The grill comes in two sizes. A 28” model and a 36” model. Also the grill can be ordered in built-in, for an outdoor kitchen or as a standalone cart model if you want something like that. So this guy checks a lot of boxes. I do wish that the grill came with built in wifi, that is a key feature that is missing. Don’t forget if your in the Denver Colorado area to visit our showroom!

Your videos are informational, thank you. Can you get an area with better lighting perhaps? The glares are pretty bad. Maybe under a gazebo?

the lighting in that area of the showroom is tricky. We have got some video lights to fill in the dark areas since.

Hey man. Good video. Just a comment for you regarding those shelves. The extremely thin rails that are set far apart and the 3 1/2 to 4 inches above the main great is actually a perfect design for smoking low & slow. I’d put my brisket, pork butts or ribs there, cook them for several hours until the meat hits about 160 or 170. At which point you slip a foil pan in on to the main great to catch the drippings that are about to start dropping like crazy. This does several things. 1. Allows you to catch the drippings without all the blood and Ash, so you can make good AuJu. 2. For bark. It it keeps the sensitive part of the meat off that awesome thick heavy great. Which may be epic for grilling, but horrible for trying to develop a bark... Keep in mind. The more convection current you have running across the meat, the better the bark. Hope that helps.

I got the opportunity to cook with this model in a built in this past weekend. Biggest 2 takeaways was the speed of temperature control was amazing and quick. From start up to smoke and from smoke to sear was awesome. Smoking was similar to any type pellet grill as well as results. Actually heat was more uneven than I would like for a big cook. Right side always cooked faster. Biggest drawback was wifi control. Not interested in coming over to check the meat temperature when I could just be on the lake...

We just got the 36” drop in. Amazing machine! We replaced our 24” Traeger. It’s very quiet, huge beautiful screen and lights inside. The hood is light and very well built!

Great video, looks like a really impressive smoker/grill. The hood is doubled walled do you know if the body (around the firepot area) is double or single walled? Really wish there were more reviews and use videos of this since it looks like a really strong option.

I guess it probably sort of is since it seems to slope inward to handle grease draining both above the firepot and beside?

You missed an important detail, where is the location of the pellet drop, is it above the basket? how far up? Some competitors have the auger feeding directly into the bottom of the burn pot and have had burn back issues where the hopper catches fire. If the pellets are about 4-5" above the basket it eliminates the possibility of a burn back.

In one of the Coyote videos about maintaining the grill you can see them put the fire pot back in and a few pellets being fed. They seem to be fed from the front above the bottom of the pot and slide down to the bottom. Can't tell how deep it is but the firepot seems relatively tall and it's a bit higher than that it seems.

I think the racks are so you can put a tray to catch your drippings, so it doesn’t catch a grease fire , Cooking a few stakes is one thing smoking a brisket or pork butt would cake the grill up ,

Can this be used as any Coyote Grill can (such as S Series) and also for smoking with wood pellets? Are there any benefits to getting a standard S Series over this? I have never used a pellet grill and wondering being in the market for a grill if I should just get this?
@embersliving
@embersliving 4 жыл бұрын
No this is just a pellet grill, so its not really a combo, where the S series is gas only if that makes sense?

We had one of these and because there is no covers over the grease pans. you will get a fire. and about 8 minutes later its burnt to the ground. Until they separate the burn pot from the grease trays i wont sell them or recommend them. Their gas grills are magnificent and do a great job but as to the pellet they have some things to work on. Twin Eagles for a high end pellet grill is now the only American made grill, as Memphis is built in china as well as coyote.

the all SS Pitts and Spits is better than this thing and it has heavy duty slide out top and bottom grates or the REC TEC BFG2500 - why don't you compare the Memphis and Coyote to those - this grill you're reviewing is just a square ss box with sub standard features
