Coyotes abundant in DFW, Texas Parks & Wildlife says

Coyotes have a long-standing history in the state of Texas. A species that is native to prairie land now has healthy populations across the United States.
Coyotes are as elusive as they are mysterious, so any data on population numbers is hard to find.
Humans and coyotes have millions of interactions yearly but we're mostly reminded of them when there's an attack, like what happened to a 2-year-old in Dallas.
Sam Kieschnick, an urban biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife, told WFAA that coyotes are some of the best at living on the margins, but in the region.

see them all the time while walking my dogs at the village in dallas. dont get an annoying little toy breed and you wont have an issue.

You can’t realy say thare is not mountain lions or cougars in Texas thare still is just rare 😂trust me Texas still got cougars 4 years ago thare was a sighting in central texqs

It's not a beautiful thing when it attacks your child or your dog. I love how people say it's an isolated incident, rarely happens, until it happens to you or your family member. Same thing with pit bulls who people keep defending until one day, for no reason, it attacks. Animals are animals, they're unpredictable. I don't care if you're an expert on the subject, you still can't predict what could possibly happen. I'm not saying destroy them, I would never harm an animal, but if there's one or a pack in your neighborhood, I would be aware of my surroundings at all times. We had distemper in a local park and animals were coming out of the woods like zombies. Nobody knew what was going on, but that's what it turned out to be, sad but true, and it's very contagious between animals.
