Where did you get the idea for this painting and for the unusual color palette? It is such an adorable painting and the little bunnies are so cute. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a jar full of goodies, or if is supposed to be a different take on a terrarium. But I love terrariums, and that is what it reminds me of.

Gouache is a thick water color paint, it is reactivated by water but can be used 'dry' in its jelly form. Work from main color to darker tones, blending either on or off the paper. Let it dry and add outlines and highlights after, but use less water for those. Every time you go over it with a wet brush you pick up the underlying color so making sure the first layer is dry and your second layer isn't as wet you can build up without blending. Likewise you can use a wetter layer as a 'wash' of color, good for adding a little blush for example. The wetter top layer blends a little with the under layer, making it look smoother. I have a problem with this Himi set. I had to struggle to use it. It was really hard to use. I'm a beginner and I got stuck. They have bad quality and it always gets dry. The color wasn't good and it faded away. I had to give up on it and buy a Holbein set. It is so much easier to use and it is so smooth. It is easy to use for a beginner like me. I believed in marketing and bought Himi. It was a wrong choice 🥲.

Yes, I agree. Holbein is definitely a wish choice and it's also way more vibrant and opaque than himi gouache. Himi is also a good choice for beginner or student compare to the price and colour range if you know how to use it properly.
