Oh my gosh, yes x_x;; It's such a struggle! I can absolutely relate to being stuck in this cycle for years and years. I'm trying my best to fight my way out of it though! Taking smaller steps and relaxing my expectations of myself. We'll get there one day! We've just gotta take one small step at a time（*´▽｀*）✧♡

Honestly I completely understand how you feel, there’s just so many things to do to make yourself a more “successful” artist and promote your work but it’s just so overwhelming for one person, I try to just stick to making my webcomic because ultimately that’s the core of my work and everything else branches off of it

Hi lovely!!! 💕 First of all, what a cozy vlog. I love getting these snippets into your life, art, and ELLIE! Hehe. I totally understand the paralyzing feeling of overwhelm that you described. I also need to sit down and physically write all the things I want / need to do, then break these tasks into smaller ones. It really helps to make a monster of a to-do list seem way more manageable, and give me the next steps forward instead of feeling scared and stuck. I hope you can take your time to do these tasks at a sustainable pace though, and know that there’s no rush! You have your whole life to work on your art, and I personally know what whatever you make - a webcomic, a stand-alone illustration, a KZbin video, whatever! - will be so worth the wait. As you’ve mentioned, you don’t need to have everything figured out right in this moment, and a lot of times, we learn as we go. It’s nice to take comfort in this truth! Look at you taking steps to get closer and closer to your dreams. It takes a LOT of hard work and discipline (as you’ve demonstrated) but you’re doing it! I am so dang proud of ya!!! 😭👏🏼🥳

Hi Rini! I wanted to drop some ideas in for your patreon: 1) the basics of sharing an early page or page progress videos, and then 2) you could offer a monthly podcast style chatty video, or a Work With Me video (no editing needed!) that way you don’t need to use too much time/labour/money on making rewards which may take away from the profit. Also as you’re gaining an audience from KZbin, people love hearing you talk and would likely support to get more of that! ❤

I was actually really hoping to offer a print reward (mostly because I just want to see my work printed haha 😅😂❤) - something like collectible printed zine issues of the Heart on a Stale Canvas comic pages I drew that month or an art print postcard/sticker club. I’m thinking I’ll put a out a poll to gauge what everyone’s most interested in once the time comes 💕 I would love to hear your thoughts on these print reward ideas too!

Those 10k followers are totally deserved and it's so nice to see your channel is grow! As an artist (always feels weird calling my self that) I feel the same kind of mental exhaustion whenever I got all these ideas, and like you, I usually end up doing... nothing! ^^' And even when there is only one single thing I really want to do, as soon as I start thinking about all the steps needed to actually reach that goal, it becomes so overwhelming that I give up before having even started. Lately I'm really trying to manage my negative emotions and self-doubt, and I know that writing a list definitely helped me too! :) I would soooooo love for you to have a Patreon! Thank you so much olivia!! ヽ(；▽；)ノ💕　Sometimes it’s to tough to break out of this overthinking-hyperactive-dreaming-mind cycle x_x;; Even more frustrating when you feel paralyzed by all the things you feel like you should be doing but can’t seem to get yourself to start and do any of it (T_T) I recently heard some good advice from another art KZbinr (Uncomfy!) who suggested to try and not research whatever it is you want to do too much, and just hop right in and figure it out as you go. You don’t need to do everything perfect the first time. You don’t need to know everything right this moment. I found this to be very helpful!! Hopefully it helps you a bit too 🥹💕 Ahh! Hi Rini. There is a phrase of a comic creator I admire “ Life is inconvenient” that resonates with me a lot. In one interview he keeps talking about not looking for the perfect set up or the perfect environment to work. As life is unpredictable the best way to tackle something is looking for the uncertain, the happy accidents, the unexpected surprises. Like surfing he also mentioned you just have to learn to adapt all the time and keep changing course according to the waves. I understand that it could be really challenging to do. So I recommend you to little by little train yourself to become comfortable with the unknown and see it as an advantage. Something that can make your art, your stories and your videos even better. So keep training not only your drawing skills but also your mindset. All you said about small steps are important too. You are doing great so far! Sorry for the long comment and glad to see you.

I feel what you've said here is so applicable to this struggle with analysis paralysis I've been having lately (x_x;;) I love how you pointed out that we can't keep waiting for the perfect setup or environment to finally feeling ready to take action - life is unpredictable, so the best way to work with it is to lean into uncertainty, despite how uncomfortable or counterintuitive it may feel. I think part of my struggle is this rampant perfectionism I've always had (*>_

Of course I struggle with perfectionism too and I don't have a special recipe to overcome it. It's so hard. I guess we gotta find a way to trick ourselves. bro.. we have the same mindset around overthinking but you're better because at least you are actually getting productive and uploading videos! i suffer from overthinking, perfectionism and procrastination all the time. i haven't even uploaded for 4 months now.. it's so hard for me to speak on a camera. like it's the biggest wall to content creation for me

I can totally relate to feeling so overwhelmed that you just end up doing nothing for months on end… I completely gave up on making art for a year before I picked up my pencil again. At first I set my expectations *super* low. I just told myself, “Just make a sketch just for fun. No one has to see.” Well, that sketch ended up being the first designs of the protagonist of my comic ヽ(；▽；)ノ💕 That one tiny step snowballed into another tiny step and another. You may not feel ready yet, and that’s okay! Just know that whenever you do feel ready to move forward, the teeniest tiniest step is all you need to start that snowball ☃️ Wishing you all the best 💪💕 You’ve got this!

But now i’m picking up my guitar again and ramping myself up to make content out of it. WOOO so excited for the webcomic!! I relate sooo much to your overwhelm with how many goals you have, Im the same LOL esp with how KZbin has effected it all! I actually realized recently I was falling off course with my original intentions for KZbin - it was meant to be a place to share my art and my stories, yet every week instead of focusing on what kind of art I was gonna make, I was like what's this week's video gonna be?? And thats fine if I primarily want to be a KZbinr, and I do think its an important part of my goals, but its only one part, and I want my priority, always, to be about the art Im making and the stories I want to tell. So Im now prioritizing my art fully, one project at a time, and Ill let the process of video-making be my outlet for sharing that art, not something that I do to keep up with the algorithm. And now Im feeling much better about all my other long term goals bc it all starts with just creating the art I want to create, like you said step-by-step! It’s such a tricky thing to balance x_x;; Sometimes it’s so hard to not get sucked into worrying about the algorithm and how posting less frequently (or posting videos that may not gain as much interest, or whatever have you) can negatively affect how many people you are able to reach with your art （；＿；） Social media can be such a wonderful tool in reaching others with your creations, but it can sooooo easily take over your creative practice if you let those dopamine hits (likes, views, subs, comments) take over 😣 You’re *totally* right when you say it’s OK to lean into social media if your goal is to be a KZbinr - but that’s not what we’re here for! We’re here to create and share our art! I’m so glad you were able to find that clarity (it’s a wonderful reminder for me as well)!! There’s no rush in posting more KZbin videos. We just need to trust that everything will come in time and that the right people who love our art will find us💕 No use in trying to garner attention around KZbin trends and things that have nothing to do with our artistic practice. Those aren’t the people I care about. I’d rather have a tiny group of people who genuinely enjoy me (and all my awkwardness!!! 🤣) and my art for what it is 🥹💕 Cheers to working on our art! 🎉

100% Rini. That's me right now. I want to write, draw, read, and many other things at once, but I know I can't do it all at once. 😅 I totally hear you on that. As you said "I freeze." I know I should try to figure out a plan like you and focus on one project at a time. The ones I feel the most drawn to right now is writing a possible story I have in my head and drawing a specific illustration that I'm SUPER EXCITED to see come to life. 😊❤ I am a spiritual person and I believe in divine beings and creatures. One of the creatures I believe in are dragons and I think everyone has a guardian dragon. I want to draw what I think my guardian dragon looks like. I am a Capricorn so I'm thinking my guardian dragon is an earth dragon. Very excited to eventually get the drawing done. ❤ Again, I do hear you.
