I agree with everything you said about keeping your writing sacred! I always share (at least online) very little about my books, partly because I'm paranoid, but also because it feels so special to have my story be known by me and me alone. Also, I love the cozy writing chats! 🤍

I love to listen to my book playlist while I run. Sometimes I just daydream, which makes the run easier, but other times I genuinely come up with the best ideas and solve plot problems and hurriedly write them down when I get home. I think getting my blood pumping helps with ideation!

i've been writing my book for 10 months now, and there's been so many times I've just wanted to tell my best friend about the plot and everything out of excitement. But I've kept it a secret and man am I so glad I did. I'm gonna tell her eventually, but probably when it's done haha.

I think this is my favorite podcast episode yet from you Ana- The cozy vibes are just right and I got something to listen too while I draw which is SLAY- I honestly resonated with your complaining about how where you live lacks the ambience that your story has because honestly I can relate??? I live in the U.S and where I live in here we got nature- We got fall, we got winter (it's miserably cold here though as a warning- I HATE IT I CAN'T HANDLE THE COLD LIKE!!! THE SUMMERS ARE MISERABLY HOT AND THE WINTERS ARE MISERABLY COLD) , we got mountains but I hate the fact that I live in a tiny small town- My series is literally set in a huge urban city like Los Angeles but where I live??? You got to drive for 2-3 hours just to get to the nearest big city , the state I live in is small in itself LIKE??? I can relate to you about wanting to get out from where you currently live because the ambience and vibes aren't right- I want to live in a big city not a small suburban little town AAAA ANYWAYS I AM YAPPING SM I GOT TO TAKE YOUR ADVICE OF NOT OVERSHARING- I love this cozy writing chat vid, you are SLAYING AND COOKING with your recent vids !

So agree with the point you stated about keeping certain projects / characters and book ideas to yourself / as a secret in a way. I dont see it as bad just a personal choice. I just really love the projects and ideas that are shared within authortube

hi ana!! i loved this ep, i relate sm with the part about feeling like a misfit 😭i mostly write fanfictions and not actual books (i don't think i'm capable of writing something that big and long, but i'd LOVE to publish a book someday) and that makes me feel like i don't even fully belong on authortube... but on the other hand, i still can relate to author's struggles and everything, so who cares what types of books i write?? anyway, as a person who lives in europe, IT'S SO COLD RIGHT NOW and even if it's fall, it snowed for the past 3 days... i hope you'll be able to witness fall someday!! have a great day ana, love your vids!!

Hi, I haven't commented before, but I try to watch every video you post. I know what you mean being scared about telling people about books you're writing. I was in the process of writing one, then told someone about it, then like a few months later someone came out with a book with a similar concept as mine..so I ended up dropping the project. I think it was coincidence of course, but still lol. My favorite coffee to get is a white chocolate mocha.

I live in New England USA and loved the fall. The leaves on the trees were bright red. orange and yellow. You would have loved it. Hope you are able to travel someday to a country where you can experience that. 🍂

I'm stuck in that kinda of limbo with friends where they're supportive of my writing journey, but they're not as into the technical side of things like I am, they'd much rather probably just hear me say I've finished, got published, and then go buy and read the finished product lol I do envy people who have someone close where they can bounce ideas off them to help progress the story and whatnot. I do have a friend who's been published for a few years now (we met when I reviewed one of her books on Insta) but she's pretty inactive these days, we sadly don't talk as much as we'd both like tbh

hi anna, I’ve been watching you for a long while and your videos always motivate my own writing journey. though I will say, and maybe you just weren’t aware, that’s it’s a bit disappointing to see you with a Starbucks drink. the boycott has been around for like a year at this point. Starbucks funds and supports Israel, aka mobilising their military and contributing to the genocide against Palestine. again, maybe you didn’t know!! anyway, keep up the good content!🫶🏼

Does anyone have any tips for keeping up motivation/focus on one book? I have maybe 40 books I’m working on right now, and some I haven’t touched in years. I have a lot of trouble focusing and staying motivated for one specific book, so then I just get a new idea and begin plotting and writing a new one. It’s a bad issue, and I can’t finish any books! So any tips or tricks would be sooo much appreciated
