Thank you for this lovely reminder to embrace the seasons as they go. I used to be so very depressed in November (my month of birth), but over the years, I've learned to appreciate this moment in time where everything seems to slow down. I can spend more time indoors, knitting, cooking and reading, and sleep more. And going out at least once a day is a must to get the fresh air and the natural light. Looking forward to see how your country house evolves next year.

I visited a friend and his wife in Stockholm many years ago. I was surprised at how many oil lamps and candles they had. "We couldn't survive without them", his wife said. I think the difference in attitude towards these gentle lights (and lamps etc) is so telling - they are not luxuries, the indulgences that they are to those of us that grew up in the tropics. They are essential. Consider them mental-health aids. Cheaper than therapy and lovely to look at!

I think it is a wonderful custom to light all the lights and remember the dead. We do that here in Germany as well, but everyone puts one light on each relative's grave. I think it actually much nicer to put them all together in one place as you seem to do it in Sweden❤ I loved Skansen very much when I visited Stockholm in 2008 with my then young daughters. We have to come back, I can't believe that it's already been 15 (!!!) years.

I feel you are correct, get outside as much as possible, especially in nature. 🍁Our local churchyard is stuffed with 🐿️, they chase one another and their antics are very funny! How peaceful your videos are, how happy the rain is, I live in the city of the 1992 Olympics, here we don't have so much nature to take those walks in the morning, plus we have had little rain for three years throughout the year and when it does It is to do damage to fields, crops and harvests, now they are already warning us that they will lower the water pressure and that they will have to include purified water from the sea. The tradition of CANDLES in cemeteries is very beautiful.

I loooove my lilysilk comforter! It’s heavier than down, but not as heavy as a weighted blanket, and it doesn’t just rest on top of you like down, but rather hugs you. I have a summer weight and a winter one and I’ve never slept better. Now that we are in Solar Winter you really need to make sure you get outside for a little bit each day. Remember there is no bad weather, but rather bad clothing choices. If it rains a lot - waterproof pants jacket and shoes or boots mean you can splash right through puddles! Which is just as fun for an adult as it is for a child! If you live in the US, the REI “garage sale” is a great place to get gently used, returned gear at a great price.

A beautiful video. I actually don’t mind this season and enjoy the coziness of it. Since it gets dark earlier it’s a reminder to me to slow down and enjoy crocheting, quilting and needlepoint. We have a dog so walks are twice daily regardless of the weather. But I make a point during the walks to pay attention to the beauty of trees and birds in our suburban neighborhood. The weather in NE Ohio has been mild so it’s not unusual to start the day in winter gear but by afternoon a sweatshirt is even too warm in the sunshine.

15:02 I so love watching your relaxing, peaceful and inspiring vlogs, thank you so much for sharing your life in Sweden, I visited a loved travelling from Gothenburg to Malmo and Stockholm in the late 1960’s which is many many years ago but I still have happy memories.

Hello Benita, thank you for another beautiful video, I’m so glad I found your channel! I’ve been to Stockholm a few times, first time in November 1984. Loved the weather and the Swedish lifestyle. I have close relatives there who immigrated in the 1970s from our native Hungary. I ended up living in the US, in Los Angeles, for decades, but always wanted to go back to Sweden and every time I did, I felt home. Just recently found out from a DNA test that my family on my mother’s side is originally from Scandinavia - no wonder I feel a strong connection 😊. Please, continue with your videos, I enjoy every one of them! Have a wonderful autumn 🍂! 🤗 Love, Elizabeth

So interesting! I feel the same way about Finland where I was born. Every time I go I feel right at home despite the fact that I was four when I moved away!

I understand both of you. I grew up in Sydney, Australia but I was born in a little village south of the Hungarian border. To this day, I am always thinking of my Hungarian childhood and the community life in my old village. I just can’t forget it! ❤️

I’ve never seen All Saint’s Day in Sweden. How beautiful! Thank you for showing us. I live in the US and I’ve seen some lights placed on graves in November and wondered which culture it came from (we have so many here). I also heard that oh so slight waver in your voice about your mom. So human. I’m so sorry for your loss. How loved she was and is!

I would also love to embrace the season in Stockholm, it's a lot more scenic and welcoming than were I am 😂 This was charming and cosy, thank you for sharing with us. The chest is a beauty, it'll look perfect in the summer house. x

I grew up in Canada, lived in Moscow for the past 5 years (but moved back to Serbia where I am originally from, where there is more sunshine haha), and I also used to take daily walks outside even during the dreary winter months. In Moscow there are a lot of great parks and I would sometimes spend hours there even in -20 weather. All you need is good clothing! It really helped a lot. But I also had to start taking vitamin d, which helped with mood too. I love having as much light as possible in my room. I love watching your videos, I have been trying to declutter my space and it has been better. My mother always buys me many things and I had to learn to say no, it is very overwhelming at times.😅 I am too chatty.😶 Thanks for the videos!

Another wonderful video. I too embrace the darkness and cool weather and do walk daily, light candles still on my balcony, as I can see them from my sofa and gives me calmness. I also at times put the fireplace channel on my tv, so reminds me of my former fireplaces in my homes, that I don’t have now. I also bought myself white roses. I have to cover my garden furniture soon, but hesitate, because still like having the candles at nigh tout there and when I do cover, I know it will be the closure of that space. What a lovely day out for us at the Museum and the shops and your purchases; and the flowers and pastry. I really loved that chest you bought. Loved the colour for your summer home. I wish we had charity shops here, you certainly have some nice things for you to purchase for your summer home. Love when you take us out on your daily routine, even to the food and bakery shops. Thank you.

What a beautiful video. I love your message of embracing what is in front of us; in this case, the dark months which are also beautiful in their own way. I also love how we can find peace and beauty in all things. Nature is the force of it all…

Dear Benita! Another lovely cozy and joy bringing video with lots of inspiration, as I suffer quite a lot from the pouring rain here in southwest Germany. Impossible to move for more than six weeks after a broken ankle, I now recover and start to go back to similar rituals as yours . I really enjoyed your visit at Skansen, it’s so beautiful there! And so lovely to see you with sweet Bonus😻a cat can help so much to feel cozy at home♥️I wish you a good week and I am quite intrigued what new ideas you will have for your summer 🏠, lots of love from Iris from southwest Germany
