I look forward to trying to make this! My loop yarn must be quite a bit thinner as it took 150 starting loops to get a good width

@jaycee0016 Hi! Ugh, I’m sure you’re correct and the yarn thickness is thinner than what I used. Even though it will take you a little longer to complete, your blanket will turn out amazing!! ❤️

So pretty! I’m trying looping yarn for the first time and thought it was going pretty well until I lost a loop somewhere. 😅
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
@cia8336 Hi! I dropped loops multiple times when I first started using loop yarn. You’re not alone! 😆 I found it helpful to to look on the backside after each row. You can usually tell if you missed any loops since they’ll sick out. I’m sure your blanket will turn out amazing! ❤️

@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
@Miranda.Powers Glad you enjoyed the video! I never thought about making granny squares with loop yarn, but now you’ve sparked my curiosity. I’m not able to offer any advice to your question at this time, but I’ll definitely be playing around with the yarn to see if it’s possible! ❤️

The red color you used, do you have a link. I love the video thank you
@CraftingWithYoo6 ай бұрын
Hi! The color is “Burgundy” and is one of my favorite colors of loop yarn. Here’s a link to the Joann’s website where I purchased mine. If you don’t have a Joann’s near you it’s also available on Amazon, but at a higher price. Hope this helps! ❤️ www.joann.com/bernat-alize-ez-loop-blanket-18yds-jumbo-polyester-yarn/16301483.html

Thank you so much for the tutorial! So clear and easy. Didn’t expect to watch it until the end, well made! I just have one question. Why do you leave two loops at the start?
@CraftingWithYoo10 ай бұрын
Hi! The 2 loops are left at the start as “weave in yarn”. Clip the little piece of string that keeps the loop together to make one long piece of yarn. Then, weave the yarn into the body of the blanket. This secures the start of the blanket so the knitted loops don’t separate. If you choose to add a border to the blanket, the stitches at the beginning of the blanket are pretty locked in, but it’s always nice to be extra sure. Hope this helps answer your question! ❤️

Great tutorial. I’m excited to try this. How would you recommend this blanket be washed? Thanks
@CraftingWithYoo5 ай бұрын
Hi! The care instructions provided by the manufacturer states “machine was cold, gentle cycle. Dry on low heat. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean “. Personally, I wash mine in cold water using the gentle cycle. I line dry the blanket to ensure it doesn’t skew or distort in any way. Hope this helps! ❤️

I just noticed with the blanket I’m working on that the white and ivory colors are softer and feel different.
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
Hi! One of my pet peeves with this yarn is that the hand feel and thickness varies depending on which color you purchase. I’ve shaken my fist to the sky a time or two after realizing the dimensions were off depending on the color. 😂 You would think the manufacturer would make things consistent across all colors, right? Ugh. Lol! ❤️

Do you say how many rows of gray and how many of white in the repeating pattern? I may have missed!!
@CraftingWithYoo2 ай бұрын
Hi! You didn’t miss anything! I actually didn’t break down the number of rows by color in my blanket. You should at minimum knit 3 rows to be able to see the cable pattern. If you knit 13 or 14 rows, you should be fine. I found that the grey had more yarn than the cream, so mine turned out to have 14 rows of grey and 13 rows of the cream. Hope this helps! ❤️

Do you have the overall measurement of the blanket. Trying to see if it is large enough for my grandson or if I have to add more rows.
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
Hi! My blanket measured 56”H x 45”W when completed. I measured it again today to see if it changed any after a few months of use and it’s grown by 1-2 inches on each side. If you would like to make the blanket larger, try adding 20 more loops to the width (will make it approximately 14 inches wider) and another ball of yarn to the length (will add approximately 10 inches in height). Hope this helps! ❤️
@Kdmanier Жыл бұрын
Yes that helped a lot ! Thank you so much! This is a gift. One more question. Your blanket in the above picture, the stitches looks so perfect or like you pressed it. Did you press it or block it in some way ? @@CraftingWithYoo
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
I didn’t apply any type of finishing such as pressing or blocking. I smoothed it out with my hand to take the picture, but that’s about it. The yarn actually holds the pattern pretty well. I hope your blanket turns out amazing. You’re such a thoughtful grandmother! 😊
@Socially_Ree Жыл бұрын
Hi! Any suggestions on making it longer and wider for a tall person?
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
Hi! You can make the blanket wider by adding loops in groups of 2. To make it longer, simply keep adding rows until you reach the length you desire. Try adding another 20 loops which will add approximately 14 inches to the width and another ball of yarn to the length which will add approximately 10 inches. Hope this helps! ❤️

i just ran out of yarn but im in the middle of a row what do I do?
@CraftingWithYoo8 ай бұрын
Hi! If you have another ball of yarn available: 1, Keep the last loop on the working yarn unknitted in the row. 2. Count out one loop on the new ball of yarn and start knitting with loop number 2. Knit as normal. 3. For the last loop in the row and the first loop from the new ball of yarn that you didn’t use, snip the middle string holding the loop together to undo it. Tie the yarns together to secure the 2 balls of yarn together. Hope this helps! ❤️

I am so sorry but I am not getting this. For some reason, my first row looks like a reflection of yours going the opposite way. Also, with all due respect, I cannot clearly see how you are doing the second row. I have tried right over left and left over right since my first row looks opposite yours and I still cannot get it. Can you please help me? Thank you! 💗
@CraftingWithYoo11 ай бұрын
Hi! Row 1 is a regular knit stitch where you insert loops from the working yarn through the back of each loop in the row and then pull up. All the stitches should look vertical, no slanting. Row 2 is where you may be having an issue. It’s a bit tricky as you have to cross 2 loops over each other and then knit them. Make sure you are knitting in the direction shown on the pattern. Row 2 you should start knitting from your left side and continue to the right side. Think of each 2 loops as a pair. Cross the left loop over the right one (left loop should be on top of the right one) and then take loops from the working yarn and knit. Stitches should slant to the right. Row 3 should be knitted just like row one, vertical looking stitches. I hope this helps!! ❤️

, so I guess I'm missing something 😢. How do you make your first loop or row? The video starts with the row already made 😞
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
Hi! The yarn comes with the loops already preformed, so not need to create the loops. Simply count out the number of loops wide you would like to make your blanket and you’re off! Hope this helps! ❤️

How to make these loops. Can you please tell
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
Hi! The loops come pre-formed on the yarn, so no need to make them. That’s what makes this yarn so great! If you’re located in the United States, loop yarn can be found at craft stores like Michael’s or Joann’s. It is also available on Amazon if online purchasing is easier for you. Hope this helps! ❤️

@@CraftingWithYoo I start with 60in long and each line I do gets shorter and shorter with loops
@CraftingWithYoo Жыл бұрын
@Christine Cahoon I understand now. It could be you are dropping (missing) loops as you knit. I did that frequently when I first started knitting with this yarn. What helped me was counting the loops as I knit. It’s probably tedious to do, but it will ensure you have the same number of loop each row. Another method is to look at the backside of the blanket after each row. If you missed a loop, you can probably see it hanging out. If that’s the case, just undue the row up to that point and catch the loop before finishing the row. Try these methods and see if that solves your problem. I hope this helps! ❤️
