Thank you for being so real and raw with us Devon. You're so bold, honest and unapologetically yourself without worrying about judgement. I so respect that! There are so many of us who prefer this safe bubble of peace we have protected and you are helping to normalise that for the world. I've been following you on instagram for a while now as I am also an introvert trying to protect her peace and serenity in a world that seems to not understand me. A world that has left me with trauma and rejection. However, you and your platform make me feel normal, seen and accepted, so thank you ❤ this has been my second NYE/D spent alone and it's finally starting to feel better or okay because I'm safeguarding my peace and boundaries. 🎉 Happy new Year!!

Hi Devon from Spain. Sorry about your lost, i can imagine how it changed your life and your point of view. We celebrated NYE 4 persons at home very comfy and nice too, no partys anymore. My go to New Year’s Eve for the past several years is Chinese take out, watching the celebrations on tv, and maybe a nice bubble bath with a book. I prefer to end the year cozy

I can relate to your family making you feel bad for leaving early. Mine is the same, but I’ve realized as I got older it’s usually the family members that don’t even make conversations with me anyways.

Love seeing a new video update! It was hard to hear about the trauma and loss of your step sister- that’s tragic. I can understand and empathize with your desire to stay home on NYE. I’m the same way and now with a corgi puppy, I have a somewhat reasonable “excuse” to stay home. The poor girl also needs her Trazedone in high stress situations, especially on events or holidays with fireworks. They were plentiful here that night unfortunately. We took her on her first road trip to visit my parents in St Augustine FL for Christmas, which went beautifully. Going to a max 45 min ride time to 14 hours was a massive jump, but having medication helped her out a lot. It was a little stressful worrying about her being in new places, stopping for bathroom breaks in crowded rest areas and sitting in traffic- but the socialization opportunity ended up being great. I’m taking note on the noise machine you’ve got, that’s a great idea 😊 wishing you and Willow a wonderful year ahead! I’d love to hear what your current favorites are for her sometime- as far as foods, toys, products etc

The news about your stepsister is terrible, that must have been (& still is) very difficult to go through. I always stay home on NYE, it was much different when I was younger & I put myself into some very questionable circumstances. I much rather have a cozy night in with my husband and animals. So sorry that happened to you and your stepsister Devon it must have been so traumatic and I can see why you don't like NYE. I also spent it alone this year, I have had some nice NYEs in the past but the celebrations and hugging and kissing strangers always seemed a bit insincere to me 😂
