It's late and the fire is lit. The rain outside is heavy and dinner is almost ready. I can smell such delicious aromas floating in from the kitchen. I take a moment to reflect back over my day in the forest and how wonderful it was to be completely immersed in nature. I felt so at one with all of life and creation... The different shades of green, the rich smell of pine trees, the rustling sound of leaves, the gentle breeze... It took my breath away, as if I was seeing these things for the first time. I took a slow and purposeful stroll back to the cabin before it got dark. Along the way I collected some twigs and dry leaves to use as kindling for the fire. All of a sudden, a male red deer appeared from between the trees, so close I could have reached out and touched him. I became aware of the silence around us, as if we were suddenly the only two creatures on earth. We exchanged a long and meaningful gaze before he gracefully disappeared back into the dense forest. When I returned to the cabin I poured myself a glass of Chateau Lafite 1787 (because in this fantasy I know my vintage wines) and lit the fire with my odd shaped twigs and beautiful coloured leaves. As I sit by the crackling fire remembering my encounter with the stag I feel such a warm feeling, as if I have been touched by angels or visited by God. We had connected with eachother and in those few seconds we had truly seen each other. It is a day I will remember for ever, because I was present, because in the company of nature and animals it is easy to remember who we are. The end. (No idea where that came from but it's 1am, I couldn't sleep and I came across this little gem of a video and this is what came out while listening. Hope it makes someone's night more interesting x)

Dug in for the night after a long journey. Got in just as the cold rain started to pelt us, chilling us to the bone. A fire was quickly lit and stew was made. We dried our clothes near the fire, lit our pipes. Someone produced a mournful harmonica till we drifted off. Come the morning we'd be destined for the next ridge over but for tonight we are warm, fed and safe.

@@kinglionjoysing7653 I have a ye olde farmhouse, the fireplaces in my family room, kitchen and bedroom are huge. A small four year old can stand inside them, lol. I love them and use them constantly in winter. Even though I have a stove I use the one in the kitchen for cooking. It has a bread oven and warmer built in. Back in the day they were considered luxuries. It is hard for me to understand homes without a hearth, lol. I cannot do without mine. You have a lovely day and thank you for sharing... 🍜 Ruby*

im just in awe of the attention to detail in this video (as well as your others on your channel). for example, the light shining underneath the front door, the subtle light reflecting off the wine glasses on the table screen right, the next door neighbors window seen through this window. the light from the window reflecting onto the table, the floor, and the wood bench!!!!!! just subtle things that make this look real. wow im just gobsmacked!

very cosy, but as I'm a control freak I can't help thinking how I would repair the stairs to make them safe! I have decided if the base structure is sound! an additional layer of cement ( with gravel) would do the trick! of course, we would need a plank frame! You see the problem I have !!!! I need help !!!!!
