I'm not a wrap-up watcher, but I like yours, they feel more homey. I'm a napper, sometimes when 2:30/3 rolls around it's like my body just shuts down and I can't function whatsoever, I also get migraines or really bad headaches and the only thing that helps it is to pop a few Aleves and sleep it off. When I was growing up I was made to believe that fire ants were only a Texas thing, but recently here in Arkansas we've been getting them as well. There was also this belief of if you live in a place with fire ants you won't have ticks and vice versa, so I don't know what to believe anymore lol.

Obviously since I'm not a psycho stalker I don't know where your live, I have birds and the nearest avian vet is like 3 hours away, when my bird had an emergency with something and her foot the local dog/cat vet had her in immediately and they were able to see a tiny clear thread was wrapped on her foot and killing it. They spoke to the avian vet after removal and were able to give me the signs to look out for. The funniest part was it was during covid so I couldn't go in so I handed her over in a sealed cardboard box and the tech asked me "front or back leg?" I said "it's a bird!" And she was like OMG I'M SO STUPID IN SO USED TO 4 LEGGED ANIMALS it was pretty funny. So anyway I was going to say if something were to happen your local vet would likely be able to do something even if they need to make some calls, and if you're close to a zoo they have amphibian vets on site and you should be able to get a hold of them if emergency care is needed and there's nothing closer. That's obviously not a guarantee BC they're obviously busy with their full time clients but I cannot imagine a vet who takes an oath like a Dr to do no harm, ignoring a tortoise in distress. My nearest zoo is also 3 hours away so it wouldn't really help me much esp since they're closed to the public through the winter BC I'm in Canada but in general, tortoises, birds, hamsters are all a "specialty" but the vets all have some minimal training from school that would've had them at least learn the basics and honestly, they know who to call and it's not Ghostbusters! Anyway just thought I would remind your goblins that just BC they don't take her as a patient it doesn't mean they won't see her in an emergency assess her and make calls. Oh also like I said I'm in Canada but since COVID the are 24/7 vet zoom calls and they will prescribe either through your local vet clinics pharmacy or ship things out or they will give you an assessment and a recommendation on where to bring her and at least here the video vet fee then rolls over to the recommended vet and you're not all freaked out not knowing anything!
