🦉📖 *...The snow had been perfect all day-pristine drifts of powder in every direction, glimmering with wintry magic. You had never had so much fun skiing. At times, you even felt like you were flying, the cold, sharp wind filling your lungs as you moved down the mountain with effortless speed. By the late afternoon your fingers and toes were chilled and your whole body felt saturated with joy and exhaustion. Stepping into the lodge felt like sinking into a heavenly bath of warmth and firelight. Now you’re settled at a table right next to the big stone fireplace, stretching your numb fingers out toward the cheerily crackling flames and feeling heat suffuse them. You take a sip of your cocoa-with extra marshmallows, of course. Outside, blue hour is setting in, and fat flakes of snow are floating dreamily past the window. You watch the gondolas on the lift moving steadily up and down the mountain, remembering the thrill you felt when you were on it, sailing through the air above the trees. I’ve been a fan for years, but recently I introduced my Nana to your Christmas ambiances and music and it really made Christmas for her. We played your music all day for days from a speaker connected to my phone, and put a crackling fireplace up on the TV and she just loved sitting and reading and chatting while enjoying all the loveliness. I think I’ve now bought all your Christmas music on iTunes 😂. I’m sure you’ll make an appearance for many many holidays to come. My Nana has some early to mid stages of dementia, so finding something that calmed her and helped her settle in was truly wonderful for our family time. She sends her many compliments, as do I.
