Cozy Slow Days of December | Slow & Gentle Living During Christmas Time | Cottagecore Vintage Ideas

Little cozy moments in life while welcoming the new season.
I know, technically it's December tomorrow, but since my upload day is today, I thought I'd welcome it a little early. :)

Orange Spiced Biscotti recipe with my modifications:
I used this one as a base
barrylewis.net...
My modifications:
- I added 150g of brown sugar instead of 250g white sugar. I think 250g is a little too much!
- Also changed the amount of flour. I used 200g of plain flour + 75g of almond flour. Then if the dough seems too wet, add a bit more flour at the end while you're mixing.
- To ease the shaping of the dough put some neutral cooking oil on your hands.
- Almonds instead of hazelnuts
- I added 1 tbsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
- Bake for 25 mins at 180C/ 356F, then take out, cut, place cut side up on the tray and bake for another 5 minutes on each side.

Daria, would you please share a playlist of your favorite soft music (pieces and composers) for slow living in the countryside? I like all the songs you use in your videos. I left the urban hustle 3-4 years ago and one consequence is my taste in music has really shifted towards classical, soundtracks, jazz and ambient music. pop is just kind of irritating to me now and I can only tolerate it in tiny doses. I find that music that I used to enjoy causes me a bit of anxiety, now that I'm used to extreme quietude and solitude. I will share a few of mine: I really like Joe Hisaishi, he produces anime soundtracks for Studio Ghibli. Traditional folk music, this is a big genre. The Transatlantic sessions, which is a collection of albums featuring traditional folk music (mostly celtic) performed by incredible artists. Vince Guaraldi trio: A Charlie Brown Christmas is a great soundtrack album that I always revisit this season. Ambient and electronic music can be nice but it feels a bit odd in a rural setting, immersing myself in computer generated sounds as well as the vast empty desert where I live. Not all ambient music is electronic though. a lot of the ambience playlists on youtube are cheaply produced. I'm thinking of the Lord of the Rings Ambience pieces, the production is cheap and it gets boring to listen to. When it comes to classical I usually select a playlist, I love harp music. I don't really know who's who in the world of classical. I could especially user pointers here. Often times classical is too tense and too formal to be considered soft. I absolutely cherish the short lukewarm sunny days of the American Southwest, and the frigid star-lit nights of the high desert. I don't want winter to end, I am always so sad to see it swept away by the march winds. I hope you enjoy the wonderful short days of December and stay warm!

Happy December! Your wreath WAS perfect! ❤ I mean what does ‘perfect’ even mean? No one persons’ idea of perfect is the same. I love you can freely forage. For those of us in the city and u we urban areas often Christmas tree lot owners will all people to collect small foliage that feel off of sold trees for free. Neighbors with holly in their yards or ivy may let you have a few snips in exchange for a holiday treat…home baked! Lots of ideas!

I love that you talk about the smell of the seasons. I notice it every time I go out. I’m not a fan of winter either, but some smells can help me to embrace the season more. While there are many things I that are wonderful about December, I struggle emotionally. I like to collect fresh greens and pinecones but I usually put them around in bowls and make a swag for the front door. I haven’t attempted to make a wreath. Yours came out beautifully 💕Like you said, any art or craft takes time and practice to hone your skills. Thank you for sharing your beautiful video. 🥰

Thank you for the video. Mostly I look forward to the review that comes at the end of the year. The television does many such shows at the end of the year and I tend to look back too at such a time. Normaly I have my head very firmly in the future. But the end of the year is the one time, I often look back at what happened. I plan for the future then too. Often my plans become moot before spring had even started, but it gives me a time to watch how I had changed, maybe even grown, that year and how my priorities became clearer over time. And what mistakes I should try to avoid next year. But most of all, I'm just curious how things work. How they influence each other. And that is visible best during a review. At least for me. Being from tropical region we don't get snowfall at all...winters are still super chilly but in my part of world Christmas is not celebrated.....but I wish to celebrate Christmas once in my life in a snowy region with beautiful golden lights and snow reflecting red and green🍁🎄

i to add way too many spices and seasonings than the original recipe requires! Lol. it is odd that i get so many compliments about my meals and treats i make and i rarely get to have any since it is gone by the time i get the chance for the second servings lol. xD that is the key to tasty food :) we like to eat seasonal foods because it tastes the exact same way as the season signature scent smells like! ☺
