Super beautiful home. I like that kick plate dust pan like device. It sure beats trying to hold a conventional dust pan on the floor and almost falling on your face outta your chair.

A Most Excellent Video, by a Most Excellent Presenter! Great ideas, great personality. Reminds me of two gals I dated in 1962-64, they could actually think, (unlike some commenters) as well as look good.

This is a very inspiring video.....I hope I can one day have a house built with a LOT of the things you have! You and your husband put lots of thought into this and it looks like it really paid off! The idea of the ramp in the rear of the house for 'security' reasons is brilliant!

It's good that she was able to get the modifications that she needed to her house while maintaining privacy.

I DO believe the security stuff makes a lot of sense. I have a door way ramp in front. That's all and I've always been very mindful of not letting any passersby see that I'm in a wheelchair. So i'm not out there doing any chores for any length of time.

very very nice! I am a para of 24 years. I have been looking at houses to build but everything is WAY out of my price range. Your house looks almost perfect for my situation. I wish i could find a pre-exsisting house and redo it so it would be cheaper but so far that hunt is not going as planned. I also have a 5 yr old that i need some space for as well. Do u have any recommendations on where to start. I live in the U.S. Thank you for the tour of your house!!

VERY good video. Great ideas. I noticed there's no rubber barrier on the shower threshold. How wet does the rest of the bathroom & floor get? I am a recent amputee (right leg, Dec, 2012) and I don't have upper body strength to use a shower bench so I'm thinking I need a wheel-in shower converting my long shower. Just wondering how wet the floor outside the shower will get and I thought they ALL had a rubber kind of low profile barrier to cross over.

i cant help but commenting that you look like Ellen De Generes. :) I am from India..never had the basic modifications like a ramp in place of steps, which actually makes getting out of the home itself a biggie (i don't go out much as i work from home) but i do intend to in the foreseeable future..i am wondering if all the modifications were done at one go or gradually as you realized the need of it individually.. Thanks for sharing...inspires me to make my home more wheelchair friendly.

Journey Starr she is a Quad though, same as me however we say Tetraplegic over in the UK, I just wanted to say I love it,I too have a bungalow but it was all very different back then I chose not to let them touch my kitchen but I'm going to talk about it Tuesday, I think your rail idea is great that was the exact reason I won't let a rail go up,like an invitation to advertise I'm vulnerable, tyfs I will show my O.T your clips perfect.
