You should either delete the old files, or copy them to a new folder. Depends on how you install WP, it will likely overwrite any old files with the same names such as index.php

All site files are usually in the public_html folder. The homepage is usually a file name something like: index.html , index.php, or default.html

I don't want to give you any wrong advice about uploading a theme since I am not familiar with phpbb at the moment. I used pbpbb many many years ago, I remember back then adding a theme required manually FTP uploading. I'm sure nowadays, they probably made this process even easier. Blog or website files are not the same as pdf. They are different file types like php or html.

Something no one talks about is what content does the website read? If I upload sds.html, asdac.html and cvjv.jpg what will the website do with these? How do I direct it to read the files I upload? On my website there was a placeholder file named parking-page.shtml. Will the website read only files named parking-page.shtml? Or it will read anything I upload, if that is the case, what will happen with conflicting files?

for example, if you visit a website i.e. mywebsite.com , it will automatically read the file index.html or index.php or other default index files. So to practice, upload a file index.html. Then with the index (homepage) you can link to other pages like sds.html or asdac.html. Hope this helps.

Sure, if you upload .epub file, you can then share the link and people can view or download it. PDF is probably more web friendly though.

If zip file is too big, you can ask your hosting provider to upload it for you. Or split the zip file into smaller files and upload.

I don't think you can upload via ASCII in cpanel. You can do so with filezilla or other FTP client. You only need to upload files via ASCII only if the script file instructions specifically tells you to do so, otherwise, most of the time it doesn't matter.

It is best to organize your files into folders like images go in images folder and pdf goes in pdf folder. Not sure what you mean by use it on your website. But you can easily link to it. For example if you upload ebook.pdf to public_html/pdf folder, then the link to this pdf is yourwebsite.com/pdf/ebook.pdf

I have noticed that when uploading files using filemanager, there is no option to upload the files in ASCII format. As l understand (if I am at all correct), transferring in ASCII format is used so that some of the data does not end up corrupted on the server after the initial upload because the files is transferred from a Windows computer to a Linux server, for example. So I would like to know what alternatives are there to getting the same results as uploading in ASCII format? Should I just upload the files in a zip folder and extract afterwards (would that work?) or are there any other alternatives to uploading in ASCII format in file manager? I am asking because what if the file you wish to upload, must be uploaded in ASCII format? Please advise. Thanks so much for your advice.

Most files nowadays 99.9% of the time, you don't need to worry about uploading via binary or ASCII format. But if your files require it for whatever reasons, you can always try FTP using filezilla or any FTP programs. Those programs allow you to set binary or ASCII when uploading.

If you have only html files, upload everything to public_html folder, and visit your domain name in your browser, and you should see your website load up. If you have a database, then that's more complicated.
