Anyone who wins a VC is worthy of a film. What a humble, amazing man.
@colinstewart1432 Жыл бұрын
Without question. They're almost almost always awarded posthumously. Johnson Beharry nearly died winning his. An RPG exploded 6 inches from his head while he was rescuing mates during a devastating ambush. Despite head injuries, Beharry extracted his mates under continuous RPG & small-arms fire all the while fully exposed because the navigation optics on his Warrior AFV were destroyed.

I think one of the criteria to be considered for earning a VC is that there has to be a 90% chance of being mortally wounded. @colinstewart1432

Gallantry of the highest order and forever known as Willie Apiata VC i think only 11 people have received it since ww2 now a maori boy from the coast has 1 but to be given it to him on his marae in front of his people that's special I could see how honoured he was wearing that korowai as well and being such a humble man but that's a common trait for those S.A.S boys.
@injectingRevolution10 жыл бұрын
The VC was given to him in Wellington. But yes very honourable and humble. Young Maori boys have a true warrior to look up to.

For doing the government's dirty and killing innocent people, Because America told a big lie about Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq to the world tell me where is the weapons of mass destruction, the SAS went to look for.or will just give you a medal for saving your mates,shouldn't be there in the first place. Look at the world too many wars nothing changed only innocent people dying and some making money very sad world we live in now even the government are inorging the veterans in nz with the problems they going through.

This man should have the title of honorable before his name not magistrates. He's one of the bravest men I've ever heard about, perhaps millineals could learn how not to chase glory & be humble, focus in service for others not narcissism. We could all learn from this soft spoken man.

No Maori are Maori distinct from other New Zealanders as stated in the treaty of waitangi, also they were the second people to arrive here not the first, the USA throwing its weight about goose stepping around the middle east and supporting the Israeli occupation and theft of Palestine is the reason the west is hated, if they didn't start it we wouldn't be there. i have greater respect for human life than to want to be one of these hired killers
