We are honoured to celebrate the unique origin of the Canadian Premier League Awards created from stone that have evolved into beautiful pieces of Inuit Art in this short documentary. “From Stone” highlights the powerful and important achievements of the Inuit artists who have created these beautiful awards.
On November 26, 2019, the Canadian Premier League unveiled its coveted individual awards that Players and a Head Coach received at the first 2019 Canadian Premier League Awards ceremony in Toronto. To celebrate the Awards and their artists, the CPL is pleased to debut “From Stone”, a short documentary featuring a powerful, in-depth narrative of the origin of the Awards, created from slabs of stone that have evolved into beautiful pieces of Inuit Art, directed and shot by Adrijan Assoufi. Our story takes you on an epic journey to Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut, deep within Canada’s most northern region, sharing stunning visuals and powerful storytelling around the carvers who created these unique Canadian Premier League Awards along with the story behind each piece.

It will be amazing to see a soccer team in Nunavut. A league for all Canadians, especially the first ones.

there are a lot of things to praise CPL (and things to criticise), but the awards are definitely the best decision made by CPL's first season. hope that we keep this going.

Is it just me or are these people who made these awards not the most amazing thing to happen to any professional sports organization. Amazing video creation too. I love that CPL has involved real Canadians, first Canadians in a forever first manor. Next expansion Inuit FC - playing 1/3 of season our of Nunavut, 1/3 NWT, 1/3 Yukon. Just a thought... Love this video, the makers, the participants, the resulting awards and all things CPL.

Well, the Mississauga MetroStars (for whom Dwayne de Rosario played for one season), has a similarly ambitious plan of touring the Golden Horseshoe while playing the MISL season, but the financial trouble caught up with them before they could realise the plan. But I do agree that the CanPL needs to start playing some matched in the Territories, especially in Nunavut.

La CPL tiene que seguir el mismo formato de campeonato del Brasileirao o el de las ligas de Europa y no el de la mls.
