The D10 sound file is being custom done with ESU. Not sure what they're using for the base sounds.

Can you do the same but without traction tires? PS, not really a 10-wheeler, as there's only 3 powered axles! Any chance, of a decapod being made by Rapido Trains? Cheers!

It has too do with two wheels on one Axel. Hence 4'6'0 4 leading 6 driving 10 wheels.

The 4-6-0 wheel configuration has always been traditionally called 'ten-wheeler' in North America.

Thank ya" i would appreciate the test done w/o the traction tire. Since it will be shipped without the tire mounted, i would like to see how it would perform when i open the box. I have a way of jinxing a model once i remove a screw, and thus if it performs pretty well, i will not open her up to exchange the axle/tire.

But....how does it pull without the traction tires? I'm wondering how it will perform on my Slocan transfer slip/car float set up. I have a 2 percent grade to the slip, with an slight angle up the transfer slip, onto the apron and then the car float. So far all my other switcher engines handle it well (P2K 0-8-0's and Gp9's). The 0-8-0's have a bit of play in the wheels which allows them to follow the rail. So I'm curious as to how the D10 will perform. Either way, I'm looking forward to when they finally ship out. 👍

Bill makes his own using an inexpensive Canon inkjet printer and 13x19 "Luster" photo paper.

Chuff rate seems a bit fast, does the rate vary using back EMF or is there a cam?

The chuff rate will be corrected on the production models. This feature is controlled with a hall sensor and magnet mounted on the flywheel.

The factory put traction tires on the sample, but the production model will have them in the box for optional installation.

I can't wait to pick up my reserved 1057 and then have it sitting in a box for 50 years with the hopes of a layout that will never happen. By then Holographic virtual trains will render plastic obsolete and my body will be chronologically frozen until the year 3150. I'll then open the box and get to marvel at my 1057 once more.
