Janice Jackson made $322,839-a $260,000 salary and an additional $62,839 in benefits. Her salary alone was $61,000 higher than that of the U.S. Secretary of Education, a cabinet-level position. She overseen a school system where 1 in 4 kids can't even read at eye level, schools were falling apart and she made off with a big payday.

Depends. She’s been there for sometime. That pension is now locked in. She can go get some other high paying city job and in a few years have a pension locked in with that. Allot of these big shots within the city end up walking away with 3 plus pensions when they retire

This is so chicago politics, iether she made her money/connections and secured a fat pension so she's done or she needed to get pit before a scandal came out. I would love ro see these positions pay out according to performance, if the schools in the city are doing great then pay that crazy money but if not then that's a waste of alot of money

She's done a terrible job. Mismanagement of taxpayer funding. It's a win for Chicago she is leaving CPS. Next, the mayor. Chicago needs leaders not politicians. Enough is enough already. No activist need apply either. Most administrators need their contracts terminated. The schools are an absolute nightmare. How is a school system run by black men and women failing black and brown students the most? Incomprehensible the poor leadership at CPS. When a city's children fail, we all fail. This has been an absolute $h!t show. Where do they find these people? Never look there again for a candidate.

Good - she really didn't do the district any favors w/being in charge...if she grew up in the system, she should have had a better idea of how to make it better while working WITH the teachers instead of AGAINST them.
