I have four Raijintek Ophion Evo M cases I got for some builds that I bought for 62 bucks. I plan to sell them all and got a 5500 for 83 bucks for what will be my lowest budget one that will sell really faster. I'm probably grabbing a 5700X3D for another to build a 1000-ish buck 4k build with a 6800XT I got laying around. It's a great time build if you are going for the highest end builds.

@@andrewcutthroat31Especially running at 4k. A log of games are GPU limited so you won't even need a faster CPU. I'd say 70% CPU utilization is getting up there though but most games aren't that CPU demanding.

@@brandonpayne1207 i've only hit 70% on M&B:BL2 with a mod that lifts the unit cap, ~2000 independent units running around makes the cpu work lol. and i've been playing in 4k, it's unbeatable clarity. most games work with everything on ultra, but there are some poorly optimized AAA games where i can only get 60 ish frames.

The first three times I tried to access this video, KZbin warned me this was a sponsored video, instead of letting me watch the video. The most irritating thing about this is that, not only do they not provide a way to bypass their warning, they also don't add the video to my history, and since when I back out of theur warning, I have a whole new list of recommended videos, so I have to do a search for the video. Is KZbin deliberately trying to make my KZbin experience as distasteful as possible?

Their Special Savings with 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM plus Motherboard Bundle Savings is awesome! Worth the 6 hour round trip drive from our home and they had 24 months 0% financing at the time and extra $20 off AMD Bundles too! This was my 1st Micro Center adventure, loved it! No real access to 7500f in the US, but I got the 7600 for $190 which I felt was quite decent. Although I wish I had just spent more to get an 8 core, like the 7700 on sale for $250. Then I'd just have 8 good cores and not have to worry about it anymore.

Thanks for the video, this was exactly the questions I have been asking myself, and it helped a lot. My PC is old, it copes just fine with the game titles I currently own so normally I would not be looking to upgrade. But I want to start doing Unreal Engine Editor game design, and also having a faster PC for gaming as well. So this is the first time I am not going with upgrade a few parts but going with a complete rebuild from the ground up of everything. I have done my research using your videos on compatible parts to avoid bottlenecks, and looked up the recommended specs for an Unreal Engine Editor machine. If I was going with a budget PC, or mid range PC (which is what I normally aim for) I would be grabbing it right now. But this time I want a high end build so I am going to have to take that gamble and wait to see how the 9000x series perform. I should still be able to follow the advice from your Prime sale day video and grab some of the components then. But I will have to wait on choosing the motherboard and CPU.

I would recommend reversing the spreadsheet columns with bi-monthly prices to go from left to right, as you are doing progression. Also, you have 'Change' at the end, so it would make sense to have the latest relative prices right next to it. Adding original retail prices might be useful as well. If you want to keep the monthly columns as they are, at least put 'Change" after 'CPU', so it is next to the relative (latest) month. It would make the chart more efficient/easier to read. :)

I watched some of the promos about the mobile version and how complex the cpu's architecture has become (the different cores and cache types and buses for them). It will be so interesting to see if it works or if there's some bugs the general public will uncover. I noticed you recommend a mid tower air cooler for the 5700x3d...Im wondering if the Vetroo V5 in a push/pull config would be sufficient cooling for it? It's more of a budget tower, but.....I'm hoping it can be the "little cooler that could", because I really like the look of it and am loathe to switch to something else. (I have the pink one). But if you think it wouldn't cool the 5700x3d sufficiently I can look into getting a different one.

I like getting high end Nvidia graphics cards. I usually upgrade every generation but I'm still on AM4 and I'm still paying off an Nvidia graphics card that I got on credit. It's not that I couldn't save up for it but rather I didn't want to wait. I've been on AM4 since 2019. Before that I was on Intel Z97 for 5 years and stuck with my hardcore quadcore Haswell CPU. I generally update my platform every 5 years and it's getting about time to update to AM5 but I may wait another year to make that jump. I don't feel it's as necessary to upgrade from AM4 as it was with Intel z97.

@@PCBuilderChannel Yeah. That's true. That would be a decent boost to gaming performance but my other tasks might suffer a bit. The x3D CPUs are a bit weaker in other areas besides gaming. I want 12 cores but I'm not sure I'd want the 7900x3D and the x3D chips on AM4 are all maxing out at 8 cores. I do game development, animation, 3D modeling, Ai related tasks on my device which is why I have 128GB of RAM to be able to run some bigger Ai models that won't fit in vRAM. Also some minor video editing. I'd like more cores for the other tasks besides gaming.

I am thinking about doing a new build with the 7900X3D while it's on sale, but there doesn't seem to be many recent videos about which AM5 motherboards are most reliable etc. Everything is from a year ago, back when the BIOS was a lot older. I need 3-4x M.2, a full set of audio jacks with ALC1220 or better ( I use analog 4.0 audio plus Mic and Line input), stable ethernet, and full Linux support. Basically all the stuff nobody else cares about LOL. I can't decide between MSI, AsRock or Gigabyte. Right now MSI Tomahawk and Carbon are most interesting to me, but I always find people talking about problems with long POST times etc. Gigabyte and ASRock seem to mostly use the old ALC897 audio chip. It seems like there's trade-offs everywhere I look. EDIT: I might add that this is a workstation build. I'm only using an RX6600, and don't really play games on it. My current system is a Ryzen 3700x.

Hopefully by then new cpu's will bump the price, and time will have also undermined the price a little. If that combines with a sale, then I can get one of the new X870 motherboards and cover some of the cost with what I'd save in sales. Of course, this will depend on 7800/7900 prices not running up in July, but fingers crossed. I think the 5800x3d likely to keep going up in price. It pretty much always happens, the "top cpu" of the old socket almost always keeps a high price as its a "simple" drop in upgrade. I wonder if the 5950xt is going to bring down the cost of 16 core AM4 computing to a nice level. I would love to upgrade my old AM4 box to something with a few more cores to compile code faster, give virtual machines more CPUs to play with, and run dedicated servers for games. I wish i had upgraded from 32gb to 64gb of ram back when it was cheaper. On the plus side, i did grab 3 "2tb" nvme ssds back when they were a lot cheaper. I wonder if Q3 or Q4 we will see Ram prices coming back down, but I think the collusion of the mfg industry is going to keep ram prices high.

@@ColinCreightonlook the seller not the reviews. Yes the GPU itself has plenty of reviews but the seller doesn't.

I really do not believe a new 9800x3D will be quick released as they still have to solve the cooling problems with the X3D cpu's as people are still crazy and overclock them even slighly OC is bad

I dont think the 9000 series will sell super well at launch since a ton of folks got the 5800x3D and the 7800x3D already. Only the "few" remaining people who havent upgraded at all will go for the 9000 (x3D) ones, but the 9000 series will sell better in the future unless Intel pulls out something really amazing. But the current and "older" x3Ds are just too good swap them for a 9000 one, imo.

If the 9600X is close enough to the 7800X3D and about equal to slightly better in mutli threading for less power usage, and they sell it for a good price, I could see a lot of folks taking the plunge with a 9600X. But we'll have to wait and see.
