Awesome video man. We (HalferLand Performance) specialize in Honda Jseries Performance Parts. Our shop R&D (my daily) is a 550whp Turboed 06' Accord coupe 6spd, built with all of our HalferLand Performance parts (1300hp Rods, 800+HP Pistons, 800+HP Block Guards, HalferLand STAGE 2 cams, Our stage 1 PnP heads, etc etc) These really are great engines and finally becoming more popular. Edit - Damn the longer I watch the better it all gets. you did a hell of a job man 🤙

Thanks. I've been to your site before and I'll probably pick up some parts once I figure out the next stage of the build for this thing. Right now I'm actually working on another J2KAWD swap for someone, only this one is going into a 5th gen Prelude.

@@Prelude3g Keep up the great work. From everything I saw the work looks solid and you went about all of it the correct way, no bypassing specific needs or clearances. I know this is a bit of an old video but hopefully you're still replying to comments! I am thinking of buying a 2006 Acura RL for a complete SH-AWD J35 swap into my 1999 honda CRV. How different would this swap be compared to yours?
@Prelude3g9 ай бұрын
It would be quite a lot more work. Mechanically you will also have to mount the SHAWD rear diff, get a custom length driveshaft. But the big thing is that you will have to use all the electronics from the RL related to the SHAWD and VSA systems. I believe they have inputs+outputs from a steering angle sensor, yaw sensor, g-force sensor, electric throttle, abs system, etc. All that needs to be transferred from the RL and working correctly or I suspect the SHAWD control unit will go into a limp or default mode and you won't be getting any of the benefits of the system.
@dillongray6889 ай бұрын
@@Prelude3g ah okay I didn't realize there was that much going on with the 2006 and Sh AWD. Would an element drive train be a better option? Is that able to mate to a j and hold the power?
@Prelude3g9 ай бұрын
@@dillongray688 Well the Element is the same as the 02-06 CRV like shown in this video. I can't say exactly about holding the power. My CRV is just a street car running all season tires. The K-series gearbox has held up fine since I did the swap and it has been driven aggressively. But it just depends on how you want to use it and which J-series you want to mate it to, more peak torque, more likely to break something in the transmission.
@dillongray6889 ай бұрын
@@Prelude3g gotcha, I need to rewatch your videos and see what all would be needed. You don't sell the fabricated mounts/subframe/exhaust do you?

I don't know how much a fab shop would charge for something this extensive, but probably well more that the market value of a CRV. I think you can use J swap parts for EK Civics to do it and save on fabrication cost. Not going to fit in the bay the same though, most of the other J swaps I've seen have almost no clearance at the front.

RPM Systems can make you a harness: go-rpm.com/j_swap_harness If you want to use an OE ECU get a 99-01 Acura TL or 00-03 Acura CL ECU. The ECU needs to match the transmission type the motor originally had (Automatic ECU if the engine had and auto trans or manual ECU if it had manual). These ECUs are the easiest to use because the immobilizer board in the ECU can just be broken off, and the car will start. If you want to be able to tune it I believe you can use the AEM EMS 30-6051 instead. Additionally to get the tachometer working you should get a Dakotal Digital SGI-100BT universal interface. This is required to convert the 6cyl tach signal into a 4cyl one, so that the tachometer shows the correct RPM.
