CRs are my fav bikes... Been riding them since 1990... His bikes sounds fine to me... Idle is fine, no misfires....Bogs a little on the low end, but thats any CR

No it doesn’t, it needs jetted properly that bottom end and mid sounds awful. Speaking from someone who has had 2 125’s. Personally don’t know how he put up with it
@blackisback744 жыл бұрын
Mine is even louder D Canning what is it you hear that makes you cringe?
@BLINC6063 жыл бұрын
@@dazaladz A 2 stroke rarely shows signs of “needing bottom end”, needle bearings typically are fine, until they’re completely not. The idea that you can hear minuscule wearing in the needles is hilarious.

If you ever go on a main road make sure you get off it asap so get in the top gear and give it some beans to go fast.

I just bought an 89 CR125 and it sounds just like this and I drive it harder than this I wind out all the gears on a really long trail and then just coast in 5th and downshift into 4th and wind wind it all the way out again. But then I was told recently that if I don't pull the clutch in when I'm coasting in allowing the engine to slow it down in 5th and 4th gear without braking....by doing that I'm damaging the engine, is that true. I thought it was different with 2 strokes especially CR125's?

Steve Anthony no it will still wear the piston and rings and cylinder
@Quinton_treecutter4 жыл бұрын
@@blackisback74 I think it’s because the engine is spinning with the movement of the bike and not the combustion power so it’s not getting oil to the piston like if you were to twist the throttle and give it fuel. Sorry if that’s confusing

@@blackisback74 I just got a 2002 cr125 and have barely rode it because it’s being rebuilt so I haven’t had experience on two strokes ye

Yeah everyone saying his bike sounds fine yeah but not for long if he keeps engine braking like that and down shifting and racing it up to redline. He didn’t even rev match when down shifting but good video none the less
@blackisback744 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by engine braking? I drive just like this and sometimes even more extreme on straight away. I'll really wind out all the gears and then just coast in 5th and once I get down to 35ish I will downshift into 4th. Because these are raced bikes I thought they were designed to be driven and ridden like that! Are you supposed to just keep it in the mid range and cruise but before getting to high in rpm then just clutch it's and coast and then take off again and get to the mid range and then just again clutch it and coast? Seems like your constantly in-and-out of the throttle but then not getting to the high end of the powerband?
@stevenlee10754 жыл бұрын
Steve Anthony yeah if you run super rich yeah but if there’s no oil getting to the top end it’ll cause damage. I heard the owner of a 700CC 2 stroke say it would destroy the engine
@blackisback744 жыл бұрын
@@stevenlee1075 ok I run my 125 with a good oil 32:1 so is that super rich as you put it? Or what would be considered super rich? I heard these bikes like my 89 were designed to be 20:1. Or what would be the proper way to ride that type of bike so that I'm not putting the engine at risk whatsoever? I ride just like this kid in the video but I really get on it and then I was engine braking from 60 down to 35 and then winding it out again and doing it over. Now I get why that was bad. Do I just hold the clutch in when I want to coast? Then downshift where I think it should start out again like 3rd gear at 30-35.
@stevenlee10754 жыл бұрын
Steve Anthony yeah I clutch in mostly when decelerating but a little engine braking isn’t that bad but just slamming down gears like that with no fuel can do damage

+fanuzzihd u use too much engine braking in this video that can destroy cranks pistons etc... because when you use engine braking u keep the engine running at too high of a rpm for the amount of oil and gas Cummings in to the engine which makes the engine run lean and a engine running lean will heat very fast and wear due to not enough oil and heat
