Thank you so much. I’ve been looking for this kind of tutorial. I just bought the square pot, can you tell me where to tie the buoy please. Where did you buy the weight? I thought the square pot comes with the bait holder. If not, may have to buy it from Amazon. Where is the best spot in Northern California to catch these crabs? Thanks again.

Is the big square pot ok for like pier crabbing?

It works well, the only issue is that you are limited to that spot on the ocean floor. People use snares so they can spread try different spots:
